Google is fast (or why is Yahoo so friggin' slow to index new sites)

Are we the only ones who have noticed that recently Google seems to index new sites instantly while Yahoo takes forever to include them in its index?

EXAMPLE 1:
We registered a new domain name on 2/24.  On 2/28 we started building a store on the domain.  On 3/5 we put a link on one of our existing stores to the new site.  On 3/7 the site was in Google's index.  Yahoo has yet to index the site.

EXAMPLE 2:
New store, August 2006.  Google has 11,300 pages of the site indexed.  Yahoo has been very slow to index the site-- 165 pages are indexed (up from 66 two weeks ago).
