I've decided I like it.
At least we agree on something. eBay struggles with legacy code issues. Perhaps the biggest part of the problem is improving the site to keep up with technology while not alienating it's customers. I hadn't logged in for a while either, but noticed the improvements and liked 'em. Of course, I generally like eBay anyway. |

Off topic: can anyone explain this: 1135 items uploaded to Half 912 items visible in our Half shop 510 items listed on Express Disappearing items...
Can't explain it, but I know its been an ongoing problem with Express. Not too long ago there were a lot of posts on SC about it. There was, of course, no reasonable explanation lol.

Re: Enhancements to eBay's Header
Quote:not to have a tab for Stores is just another case of ignoring the ebay Stores altogether. I think they regret not making the stores platform more buyer friendly and are trying to correct the problems (no shopping cart, purchases from multiple sellers require separate payments to each seller) by pushing Express and hiding Stores. Compared to Amazon Marketplace (which is what Express is trying to be), eBay Stores are buyer unfriendly: no shopping cart (despite eBay's promise when Stores opened to add one by Fall 2001), every seller has different payment/shipping terms, etc., etc. I think Stores have been demoted to Half-land and Store owners can look forward to years of neglect with no promotion, etc.

"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site. best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011 |

Quote:I think Stores have been demoted to Half-land and Store owners can look forward to years of neglect with no promotion, etc. And many are staying complaining about the same old things like they are shocked, just shocked that eBay could do such a thing even though they did just add some new promotion boxes :lol16n:. It is a dying concept which they will keep as long as people like Marty PAY MONEY to bring off-eBay traffic to their eBay store . |

EBay Stores R.I.P.
Another article from Randy Smythe:
Quote:What, is the plan here? Ive looked at this over and over and I cant figure out what eBay is doing. Why is it so difficult for them to clearly articulate their plan for Stores? If Stores are to be a vital part of the eBay marketplace then promote them to buyers dont just encourage more sellers to open stores. This isnt rocket science here. Store items are the IT that eBay touts in their slogan. Whatever IT is you can find IT on eBay but they dont promote those listings because they are "unproductive" they dont move fast enough, instead eBay disadvantage those listings and wonder why they dont sell. Store items are clearly the unproductive listings eBay is talking about. Hello McFly! If you just promoted them naybe they wouldnt be unproductive... full article: http://rksmythe.blogspot.com/2007/04/eba...s-rip.html |

Re:eBay Stores R.I.P.
Quote:What, is the plan here? The "plan" became somewhat obvious when they removed stores from search last year. It became absolutely clear when they hiked fees and stated that their purpose was to get rid of all those "unproductive" items, along with a return to core. ' IMO, their continued emphasis on core should clearly indicate to store sellers that eventually, stores will be but a distant memory. Probably soon. |

Re: Enhancements to eBay's Header
Quote:You don't even need to make a public proclamation that you are still committed to Stores just include a flippin' tab for Stores on the new header. That small effort would show sellers you want Stores to be a part of your marketplace. Exactly. |
