US Tops List of Top 10 spam producing countries

I'm surprised Australia isn't there as I get a lot from Australia (as I find when I double check the sender's IP address).  Maybe I'm the only one getting all their spam  Happy001

US Tops List of Top 12 spam sending countries in 1st Quarter China gaining fast
Another quarter, another reranking of the top SPAM sending nations.  The US is still the top spam sending country, but 4 Asian countries (China/Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan) now account for nearly 50% of all spam sent.

Quote:The United States is still the top spam-relaying country, but Asia could soon dethrone it as the spam king, a new study says. Sophos' latest "Dirty Dozen" report on the top 12 spam-relaying countries during the first quarter of 2006 concludes that the United States is still sending more spam than any other nation.

"Although we're seeing a worldwide increase in zombies, hijacked PCs infected by malware, Americans have vigilantly increased protection on their computers from malicious hackers resulting in a significant decrease in spam coming from the United States," said Ron O'Brien, senior security analyst at Sophos...
