Re: Web site finds new homes for old junk (Freecycle.org)
I've gotten a couple of things on freecycle. San Francisco has one of the largest numbers of freecycle members but the selection is poor compared to craigslist. Try their product finder http://freecycle.org/finder

Try their product finder http://freecycle.org/finder [/quote] New York has more members than SF but there are only 18500 members here. I've never joined because there is a reason the stuff is unwanted by its owner and free ...although I'm sure if I had the time to check the site regularly I'd probably find something good.

Freecycle.org finds new homes for old rubbish
Freecycle is in the UK too:
Quote:...Freecycling, a grassroots non-profit movement that has now stretched its web to more than 50 countries. Every day, the movement is responsible for keeping more than 200 tonnes of waste a day out of landfill sites across the globe. In the UK, it is estimated that 122,000 members will exchange some 45,000 items this month alone... full article: http://technology.guardian.co.uk/news/st...83,00.html |
