Amazon simplifies bulk upload process
Quote:ew Look, More Features for Upload and Reports Pages

Soon we'll be unveiling improvements to the Pro Merchant Volume Listing tools. We're streamlining the pages you use for uploading inventory and downloading reports. The current file and report formats will remain the same, so you don't need to change any of your business processes.

Here's a peek at what you can expect:

What's different?

More Efficient Design

A single Upload Inventory File page will replace the multiple pages you currently must navigate through. On the new page, you can download an inventory template, prepare your inventory file, upload the file, and also review file upload status and history. With the new interface, you will notice we have simplified the file names. The tab-delimited Inventory Loader file is now referred to simply as Inventory Loader. The tab-delimited Standard Book file is now called Standard Book Loader.

We have replaced the option to submit a modify/delete file with a Price & Quantity file. This file will allow you to update just your price and/or your inventory quantity.

More Report Options

You will continue to have access to all of your current inventory and order reports. The new report pages will look like the upload inventory page. The page provides a report status that will allow you to quickly see reports that have been requested, what their current availability status is, and a link to download when available. You will have expanded date range options available for order fulfillment, sold listings, and cancelled listings reports.

Do I need to change how I work?

You will follow the same process to create your file; however, the file names you will be uploading have been modified slightly. The Tab-Delimited Inventory Loader file is now referred to simply as Inventory Loader. The Tab-Delimited Standard Book Loader is now called Standard Book Loader. In addition, the modify/delete file option has been replaced by the Price & Quantity upload.

Access your inventory reports by clicking the Inventory Reports link in the Manage Your Inventory section.

Access your order reports by clicking on the Order Reports link within the Manage Your Orders section.

Access the new bulk inventory upload page by clicking the Upload Multiple Items link in the Manage Your Inventory section.

What is the Price & Quantity file?

A Price & Quantity file allows you to update only the price and/or quantity of your inventory without having to submit other information. It is in the same format as the Inventory Loader with only the SKU, price and quantity fields.

Have the report formats changed at all?

No.
