Nokia N91 - eBay Fraud
Quote:The Nokia N91 is a fabulous handset, but it's not out until 2006. So, why exactly are there dozens of auctions on eBay for a handset that isn't out yet?

Well, simply put - it's fraud. The Nokia N91 handsets listed do not exist, and the accounts advertising them are either hacked or just newly registered in order to rip off buyers. Alarmingly, many buyer are taken in by these frauds and are prepared to put up large sums of money for products that will never turn up.

Is eBay programmed by morons? Don't they have filters to block certain words from listings?  Happy001

Answers:  1. Yes, 2. Yes, but each filtered word must first be approved by 50 different eBay 'teams' before it is entered into the filter.  Average time taken to enter word into filter: 6 months-1 year.

That's about how it works in eBay corporate bureaucracy land.  :Smile

This is one situation where ebay could put an immediate end to fraud by filtering out the model name, and yet it hasn't taken that simple step...and buyers on the site continue to get ripped off as a result of eBay's incompetence.

Looking through a few of the listings... one person is using several different IDs.
