Nunavut Tourism Sues Liberal Candidate, Lawyer Over Domain Name

The territorial tourism association has named Kirt Ejesiak, the Liberal candidate for Nunavut, and recent Akitsiraq Law School graduate Madeleine Redfern in court documents obtained by CBC News. The lawsuit also names Ejesiak's Apex-based company, Uqsiq Communications, as a defendant.

Nunavut Tourism alleges that one or both of them tried to obtain money for use of the domain name nunavuttourism.com. The allegations have not been proven in court, and all parties are scheduled to be in court on Jan. 16.

In the court documents, Nunavut Tourism alleges that Redfern breached her contract as an employee there in 2000 by registering nunavuttourism.com under her own name instead of under the association's name...
