Yeah, but Bob ticked off a PAYING customer. Did your boyfriend pay you? edited to add: This is TOTAL humor... or lack of. |

Re: Is eBay Intentionally Hiding the Listings of "Whiners & Complainers" from Se
One last question...(I've had it with Ebay...I made a whopping $2.60 profit this week on 4 sales (after Ebay fees for all the items that haven't sold).
So, I know many people hate the prepackaged web stores. But, I don't think I can handle setting up my own. I really really like the look and feel of the Presto store package. Someone said it was too slow for loading pages, but I have checked out websites from people who go it alone and theirs is terribly slow as well. I will use my own domain. I can upload using a csv file and still have the listings available should I want to toss some on Ebay or should they have a listing special I want to use, and from what I've seen, it would work for me. I need a site that can handle tons of listings. Presto said some of their clients have over 50,000 items available. Does anyone know if the site itself will load even slower if Ihave say 20,000 items? Or is the loading speed dependent on the overall site size (as in all stores on Presto)? Anyone think opening one there is a really really bad idea? And, if so, why? Because going it on my own just won't be an option now (even though I have plenty of webspace available on Ipower). Thanks for any all opinions. I want to get this thing rolled out next week. |

Re: Is eBay Intentionally Hiding the Listings of "Whiners & Complainers" from Search
Any more follow-up on the vanishing items conspiracy?
Interestingly enough, my mom has been selling on eBay since 2002. She doesn't know what bulletin boards are, much less post to them. She consistently gets an 80% sell-through rate, all year long, on her original artwork. As an experiment, I tried selling a handful of her items on my eBay ID with the largest number of feedbacks. Not one had a looker, bid, or sale. Not sure if that's related to the "conspiracy," but it is weird that she has a consitently high sell-through and actually gets several bids per auction item, like the old days--and she's never even seen a message board.

Quote:Interestingly enough, my mom has been selling on eBay since 2002. She doesn't know what bulletin boards are, much less post to them. That would seem to guarantee that something funny is going on. I know my competitors are selling the exact same postcards I am (same time and subject matter...rarely do we have exact copies of old postcards). And, they are still getting a 25 to 30% sell through and making around $5000 a month. I can't sell anything. Maybe I will test it out by listing under my other ID. Wonder if they have them linked and would know it is me? |
