Not making a killing but year over year it just keeps getting better. (My ONLY source of imcome) Have some simple SEO tricks that seem to work too. If you have duplicate products or reproduce the same types (like we do), than placing items all over the net in various venues (free listings or low fees) to DRIVE traffic to your site and get your BRAND out there seems to help the search engines pick up on this. I hope this "help"s LOL

PS myfavorites4u in todays web site world it is really not that difficult to
do your own site. Zen Cart and OSMax are FREE cart programs that let you build your site fairly easy after inital set up and familiarization. The sky is the limit and it saves you a bundle in recurring fees other fee based options offer. Still everyone has thier own limitations and desire to do it or not. Just a suggestion to maybe look at it. sry for miss spells.. so tired of typing all the time. ;D

One last question...(I've had it with Ebay...I made a whopping $2.60 profit this week on 4 sales (after Ebay fees for all the items that haven't sold). So, I know many people hate the prepackaged web stores. But, I don't think I can handle setting up my own.. [/quote] I used osCommerce for 3 years before switching to MonsterCommerce last year. I'm very happy with Monster. |

Re: Is eBay Intentionally Hiding the Listings of "Whiners & Complainers" from Se
Very sad stories still alive and well on feebay. From this thread this morning, post #7:
http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?t...0407166163 Me too. I think the traffic reports are working right because I have had an 80% drop in my sales since they chaged the search criteria. I am a huge book seller and sheet music seller and I have been hit really hard. I have found no difference what-so-ever if I put leave it in the store or put it on "core". No visibility. I am doing nothing different than I have for years and no hits, no questions, no sales. I used to get a lot of international sales but have had none since mid September. No new buyers either. I don't sell junk and have worked hard on our reputation on E-bay. It has been ruined by Ebay allowing all these 1 cent sellers who charage outrageous shipping. It leaves no room for most of us which are honest sellers. I have gone to other sites and am having success and opened my own web site too. Unfortunately if I had done it a years ago I would not be in this mess now. My business has tanked completely. I hope those of you who sell dolls and toys and items like that can survive through the holidays but I doubt someone like me will...even childrens books are not selling. Our technical books? I can usually count on 3-5 of those selling a week for $20 or so........Over the past 4 week...no sales at all. I wasted $474.00 in e-bay fees last month. I am not listing much at core now because it does not drive traffic to our stores. Our buyers cannot find our items at auction....why spend the money when Ebay is quite frankly BROKEN. Signed....sad....disgusted...exasperated...and exhausted... Oh...and poor too! Thanks Ebay. I finally got 'IT' |

I'm afeared there will be a lot of ex-ebayers before the holidays. They will give up before Thanksgiving.

Give up or run out of money to pay their fees and bills.

Re: Is eBay Intentionally Hiding the Listings of "Whiners & Complainers" from Search
I've completely stopped buying on eBay. I used to buy at least two or three times a week on there, sometimes even more (if it was for business).
With a little research, I've found 99% of everything I used to buy on eBay, off-eBay. Now--I buy everything from regular ecommerce retail sites. Consolidated shipping without any mystery--yaay!
