Quote:The story (apparently) goes like this. Amir sells his laptop to a guy in the Uk on EBAY for about R4500. The guy that bought the laptop had to wait for two months before it arrived despite paying for it when he was supposed to. When he finally got it, it wasn't what he had been promised - in fact it was a broken laptop - and he was highly annoyed.

He then took the hard-drive out and must have got it to work on another machine as that was when he discovered the PORN and other bizarre content belonging to AMIR, the original owner, who hadn't erased it.

He then started a BLOG called "the broken laptop i sold on ebay " which publishes all the pictures, a photo of AMIR, pics of his friends etc...

Quote:I think i might coin a phrase:

To 'do an Amir'
To con money out of someone, lie or be otherwise dishonest, only to face ritual humiliation on a worldwide scale.
Revenge is sweet. Happy001 Happy001 Happy001 Happy001
Good for him!  I'm all for the public humiliation -- and the statement that if he refunds the money, the page disappears... He got what he deserved, IMHO.
That is hillarious.  But, I do have to admit, I am very curious as to will happen when the seller sees the page and his pictures posted on the internet without his permission (should be interesting).

Update: the seller is upset and filed a police complaint and is threatening a libel suit against the buyer.

The seller is also being investigated by the police for allegedly ripping off another eBay customer by failing to deliver an iPod. The seller, trading under the username of thomasbuckly, has been suspended by eBay.co.uk Smile

Quote:The 'ebay avenger' who posted an embarrassing web page about a student who sold him a faulty laptop last night offered to take it down in exchange for his money back and an apology...

Amir, an 18-year-old A-Level student from Barnet, North London, said his life had been made a 'living hell' since the website was published and announced he was going to sue for libel.

Yesterday, however, it emerged he is being investigated over at least one other eBay 'scam'...

Quote:A website, apparently set up by a disgruntled eBay customer, is being investigated by police.

The writer behind the website claims to have been sold a faulty laptop by a 19-year-old student and shows pictures which the writer claims, he found on the laptop.

Amir Tofangsazan has become the talk of internet chatrooms and the site has registered more than half a million hits.

But the teenager from Barnet, north London, said it had made his life into a "living hell"...

"The allegation follows from a civil dispute. No arrests have been made and inquiries continue."...

Oh boo-hoo, cry me a river....NOT! Does he really think people will feel sorry for him after he sells a laptop and left porno on it for the new owner to see? What did he expect?  He got exactly what he deserved for that stunt.

Amir is verrrrry fortunate that the person he scammed is honest enough NOT to use the banking info and such that was left on the hard drive.
