OK. I'm so frustrated.

Doing my enormous Froogle / Base feed by hand, since stupid X-Cart doesn't export them properly (only a small fraction of the items end up actually showing up in Google when I do the export).

Anyway, I've uploaded a sheet of 60 items--on the 25th. They were accepted and they show in admin as "Published and searchable"

BUT they all have ZERO views, ZERO impressions, ZERO clicks. When I check Froogle or Google Base, I don't see them in there at all.

How can they be "published and searchable" but invisible on Froogle and Google Base?!

Hi Thentavius,

Sorry to hear about your woes... I feel your pain!

RE:  x-cart - the froogle feed is on my to-do list tonight or tomorrow, so if I come up with anything, I'll drop you a line.

RE:  no clicks/views

That's because there is little traffic there at all... probably more sellers than buyers.  Mainly because Google has chosen to make Google Base all but invisible to surfers.  Apparently, they deem "news" and "maps" more important than "products for sale".  If one of our products gets 5 views in 30 days, I'm amazed.
I would tend to agree with that--EXCEPT, if you do a:

store:plasticpumpkin.com search on Froogle or Google Base, the items aren't even showing up at all. :-(

??? I looked your site over and loved it. Will take your word for the views but that's insane. I would have guessed many more with what you're offering.
How should I put this. If I was looking for your product I would love to find your site. I had been planning to Froogle for some time now but, from what is posted here, it sounds like a potential customer has to specifically search Froogle to find your items? Can't they get results for your site when doing say a "feedsack +fabric" search in the normal Google search?

This is depressing, if so.

TYVM!  It's all gonna change the end of the month!

By views, I mean coming from Froogle.  The site as a whole gets about 1,500 page views a day (including spiders, automated scrapers, I believe).  Probably 1/4 to 1/2 are real human surfers.

The site iteself, no... items, almost certainly.  It's very hard (for us) to get individual product pages ranked highly in a natural Google search.  The site itself ranks quite high with many keyword phrases.

The froogle inclusion is just icing, reaching potential customers that may not find your goodies.

Yep!

#2 Vintage Feed Sacks (right behind our bCentral site, which will be closing! LOL)
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=vintage+feed+sacks

#5 Vintage Fabric
http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&safe=off&q=vintage+fabric

#7 Vintage Magazines
http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&safe=off&q=vintage+magazines

#3 Vintage Road Maps
http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&safe=off&q=vintage+road+maps

BUT!  Then it's up to ME to steer them to my product pages, which I haven't done well in the past... but as I said, all is going to be changing drastically soon!

Thanks again for the kind words.  (Yes, I'll be posting a notice when we're "done"  Wink)

Cheers

Maybe they were removed after being published  Were any of them duplicates of items you have on Ecrater or Etsy?

I think it also helps your item pages get indexed faster in Google's main search.
Good luck. I think it is worth figuring out.

I think this is how the visits show up in my stats??? If not, what are they? I get a lot like this- Kim:

Oh, god. DUH.

They ARE showing up in Google Base, but not Froogle. Do I still have to do a separate Froogle feed these days?
