I Need Help With An Idea?

Hello to all that reads this,

I want to start my own website that has authours ebooks ranging from fiction, non fiction, spirituality, fantasy etc. I have seen a few big time ebook company's online and one has an affiliate programme and I don't want people to get directed to another site. I live in New Zealand and want my own NZ site for people to buy from, not only for my self but for my fellow N Zealander's. I don't quite know where to start? Do I contact publishers to advertise their ebooks to sell on my site etc? Any ideas on this would be a great help...
