Where can we report internet cons?
So this gal starts a Ning group and sells loads and loads of Lifetime advertising. She sells every spot she can, and then as soon as she has sold the site dry, she closes it down in the name of God.
It's such a load of bs, and thinking it would be nice to report her as she is still doing business online and most likely embarking on more little plots like this. I can't find the site anywhere except some old groups. It was closed down months ago or almost a year ago, so there isn't much other than a trace here or there. It was momsunitedinbusiness.com . Since it's so old, I can't find a cached version of it. I think what she has done is illegal and somewhat fraudulent. I didn't spend much, but she had hundreds buying advertising space. |

Re: Where can we report internet cons?
You could file complaints with IC3.gov and the FTC but they're unlikely to do anything (or care) unless a large amount is involved and/or they receive dozens of complaints
"Well, Jay was so giddy that someone named Jay was involved with this site we posted our first non-eBay listing in 3 years here at Lunarbid (we tried two items at Yahoo once upon a time, they bombed)" -Marie posting in a LunarBid thread at OTWA in 2005 wins the award for 'most moronic reason ever given for choosing a venue"
"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site. best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011 |

Re: Where can we report internet cons?
A little time spent on putting together a page that links to the past endeavors and current endeavors along with all of the publicly available information you can find about her might be the best way to help people. Some do some research before they fork over more than a few bucks so a well SEO'd might prove a good public service gesture.

Re: Where can we report internet cons?
Yeah, there are actually many complaint sites that have good SEO, so I've done one post and will do more when I get time.
It's just so annoying when people say that God told them to screw a bunch of people over. What a load of crap. |
