From 85,000 auctions listed on Overstock last Summer to 0 today, and a red sign besides his user ID that says Inactive

Quote:Q: What does it mean when "Inactive" appears next to a username?

A: A user's status is usually set to "inactive" because his or her required user information needs to be updated. If this is the case, he or she is redirected to the preferences screen to update his or her information immediately after logging into the site. A user's status may also be set to "inactive" for other reasons. An inactive user may not post auctions, place bids, post a question on the message board, or ask a seller a question.

Re: Why is he still on ebay?
Maybe your little buddy is in BIG trouble financially.

The whole "trade off" to sell for less for the shear sake of volume catches up to every
company big or small.

Sure it helps with cash flow but at some point usually after really looking
at the bottom line one has to curb this "trade off" behavior or risk unacceptable losses.

The costs to do business are on the rise and may be a factor for this seller and
the whole profit loss thing is catching up with them.

Just giving it away is not a "successful" long term business model.

"Well, Jay was so giddy that someone named Jay was involved with this site we posted our first non-eBay listing in 3 years here at Lunarbid (we tried two items at Yahoo once upon a time, they bombed)" -Marie posting in a LunarBid thread at OTWA in 2005 wins the award for 'most moronic reason ever given for choosing a venue"

Never received it. This has to be the worst experience I have ever had on any auction site. A total nightmare...

And eBay still counts poster boy proudly among ITS sellers . . . .

I like how the "Framed Print" does't come framed.

eBay should be ashamed.

They aren't, but they should be.  Tongue2

(Of course poster boy should be ashamed as well.)
