Help Wanted: Google: Vertical Markets Director, Classifieds

Google is looking for someone to head up and develop their classified advertising (Base, Automat, etc) efforts.  A job ad was posted Friday on Monster.com:

...As a member of Google’s Vertical Markets Group, your main responsibility will be to develop and execute on a strategy for driving ad sales with all advertisers in the Classifieds category on a national/international level, working with all sales channels and resources (DSO, ISO, Online).

Specific responsibilities include:

    * Developing strategic plan for accelerated long term category revenue growth.
    * Identifying and assigning named accounts across all DSO regional teams in the Classifieds vertical.
    * Solidifying relationships and maximizing revenue growth with top vertical-specific advertisers.
    * Working closely with regional sales teams to sell and grow all vertical-specific accounts.
    * Representing Google at Classifieds-targeted industry events and associations.
    * Hiring and managing Specialist(s) and/or Associate(s) for the Classifieds team.
    * Provide training, guidance and feedback to verticalized team members as well as Regional Sales Managers.
    * Providing clients, directly and indirectly, with true consultative sales experience.
    * Utilize and leverage all available resources (marketing, public relations, product and engineering, etc) to achieve non-revenue objective.

Requirements:

Minimum 12 years progressive work experience.
6+ years in Classifieds marketplace, preferably in marketing, brand management, or advertising sales.
3+ years sales management preferred.
Proven record of strategic development of Fortune 1000 client base.
6+ years of Internet sales preferred.
3+ years at a top-ranked internet site preferred.
BA/BS degree required, preferably from top-tier school.
Exceptional academic experience required; MBA preferred.
