Ohio High School Senior Faces Felony Charge for Refreshing Browser

Asking folks in an Internet chat room to help crash his high school’s computer was a joke to one student.

School officials and Canton City Prosecutor Frank Forchione didn’t think it was funny.

On Wednesday morning, Forchione filed a felony criminal charge of disrupting public services against Michael W. Stone, 18...Uniontown police arrested the Lake High School senior at the school.

It’s not the first time local officials have investigated situations where students are misusing computers. Forchione noted a 2005 case in which four Jackson High School students were charged with misdemeanors after being caught accessing the school computer system. Some grades were changed.

Times sure have changed in school.  Back in my day if you wanted to change your grades you had to break into an office and break into the filing cabinets where all the student paper records were.  Of course I never did that.
