Tutorial and How to: Setting up a Fedora Core 4 Linux Server
Tutorial teaches how to install and setup a Fedora Core 4 Linux system.
Quote:This is a detailed description about the steps to be taken to setup a Fedora Core 4 based server that offers all services needed by ISPs and hosters (web server (SSL-capable), mail server (with SMTP-AUTH and TLS!), DNS server, FTP server, MySQL server, POP3/IMAP, Quota, Firewall, etc.). In addition to that I will show how to use Debian's package manager apt on an rpm-based system because it takes care of package dependencies automagically which can save a lot of trouble. full tutorial: http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect_setup_fedora_core_4 |

That's nice. Got any Fedora Core 2 through SSH setups up your sleeve?

Re: Tutorial and How to: Setting up a Fedora Core 4 Linux Server
I'd go with core 4 over core 2. We're using 64-bit core 4 on 3 servers and regular core 4 on 2 other servers..and SuSe on 1 server.

It's free. You can download it here: http://fedora.redhat.com/Download/

We just got a GoDaddy VDS. Comes with FC2. [/quote] It should be installed already then. The Fedora FAQ has links to all the documentation you'll need: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FAQ and there's more documentation here: http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/

Re: Tutorial and How to: Setting up a Fedora Core 4 Linux Server
Core 2 is already installed, but I'm too cheap to buy Diger a control Panel.
Edit to add: I have to sleep on the couch now, and she isn't even here! |

I saw your ealier post about Webmin and BBH's comments about some other control panel boinking with his configuration. That was actually part of "MY" decision to hold off on a control panel. ***sigh*** Maybe Diger's right again. |
