I missed it. Came along in time for the pink slap princess graphic though and immediately thought of you, Anita.

Her post was about what not to do as far as copying a person's code and stuff.

PS I am NOT making in fun of this person... but WOW has she ever bought into the theory that eBay is the only safe way to shop: "Hope it's ok to ask this here. Where do your customers come from? Are they from e*bay or maybe a g*oogle search? How safe is it from a sellers side? Reason I'm asking is I have a few very high end items to sell and just wonder how this works from our end to sell them on a SE site. I know we take chances about being scammed everyday and I trying to adjusted in my head about it being from outside e*bay. Hope this make sense." http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?t...1000253820&tstart=0&mod=1145025836839 |

IMO, eBay is about the least safe place to trade on the planet, because scammers know they can find a mark there.
My son found yet another "too good to be true" listing for a motorcycle the other day (on the Bay). Called out to ask me about it - he's getting good at picking out the signs - and my reply was "If you're asking . . . it's a scam." That one was actually pulled by the next day. I think eBay pulled it for fee avoidance and could care less that there never was a motorcycle or that the seller intended to sell it a dozen times. |
