OK, so I want the CREloaded osCommerce instead of the plain jane that I can install through cPanel at the click of a button.

It's uploaded and installed and I've made it to this point:

osCommerce Configuration

The following error has occurred:

The configuration files do not exist, or permission levels are not set.

Please perform the following actions:

* cd /home/ironchic/public_html/replacements4less/loaded615/includes/
* touch configure.php
* chmod 706 configure.php

* cd /home/ironchic/public_html/replacements4less/loaded615/admin/includes/
* touch configure.php
* chmod 706 configure.php

If chmod 706 does not work, please try chmod 777.

If you are running this installation procedure under a Microsoft Windows environment, try renaming the existing configuration file so a new file can be created.

I have a linux server and windows OS here on my PC.

And I am clueless. Totally clueless. Sad

You need to use your FTP program (or log into the SSH secure shell) and change the read/write permissions for those files, that's what it's telling you.

chmod is what changes read/write permissions on files

Probably easier done using your FTP software

What does "touch" it mean? Then how do I chmod 706 it??

I didn't know ftp programs could do anything other than transfer files??

OK, I don't know what Core lite is like, I've been using Wise FTP..

'touch', I'm not sure.. But if the file exists in the directory on your server, click on it, and if you right click, see if it gives you an option for properties - the file permissions are probably under that.

OK, yes, right at the bottom of the menu is Properties (I just installed Core to check lol) and at the bottom of that window is a box that says Value: - enter the 706 or whatever it's telling you for that particular file in that box.

(I had tried changing the permissions in cPanel but it wouldn't *take* but it did using Core?)
