OSX.Leap.A - First OS X Worm?
Can't believe Mandy missed it! Looks like OS X might have gotten it's first worm, although Apple released the patch before it hit. Only the lazy are vulnerable. Apparently, it only "weasels" it's way on the stinky new Intel Macs.

That's a large percentage of the people with any OS (or software program, script) unfortunately. People are still getting hit by the phpBB Santy worm even though a fix has been out since 12/94. |

Re: OSX.Leap.A - First OS X Worm?
I tried to search before posting, but no joy. I guess I don't do a good job of following the Mac specifically. I see it as a FreeBSD Unix variant, and that's a HUGE part of why I switched back to Apple in 2000.
So take OS X out of isolation!!!! I don't have much interest in reading about fluffy widgets, or Steve Jobs new microminithongbikini. I check "Internet Security" to find info about ALL the OSs we deal with daily (XP, Linux, & OS X). Should be in one spot. |
