Quote:In 2005, eBay [PayPal] had the highest charge-back ratio of any online ecommerce company on the Internet - world wide - and compared to the prior year's figures, it had increased over 150 percent in 2005. Their rules encourage asshats to do chargebacks to get It free

Re: eBay's Lack of Interest in Fighting Fraud Catching Up to It, PayPal Chargebacks
Quote: I cannot recall eBay ever suing or filing a single criminal complaint against any - not one - fraudster using their company's name. The fact is, unless they [phishers] stole directly from eBay - they just don't care. I'd say that's fairly accurate. eBay's primary concern has always been to protect itself from any liability and its policies/user agreement are designed to protect eBay first--even if it means its users will be exposed to risk or left to fend for themselves. As far as eBay is concerned, it is only a venue. Tiffany, and several politicians now say otherwise, and so the chances of eBay being able to continue to insulate itself from liability are shrinking.
"Well, Jay was so giddy that someone named Jay was involved with this site we posted our first non-eBay listing in 3 years here at Lunarbid (we tried two items at Yahoo once upon a time, they bombed)" -Marie posting in a LunarBid thread at OTWA in 2005 wins the award for 'most moronic reason ever given for choosing a venue"
"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site. best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011 |

Re: eBay's Lack of Interest in Fighting Fraud Catching Up to It, PayPal Chargebacks
10.00 is required fee imposed by the credit companies through paypal. Paypal does not get this fee. And if the byer has used echeck or balance transfer or checking account through paypal, there is no fee to sellers.
This isn't accurate, is it? Or did I just make an asp out of myself? http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?t...1000231723&tstart=0&mod=1141017060334 |
