Ad Deal Moves Podcasters Closer to Quitting Day Jobs

Nate and Di Fulmer are at the crest of a new wave in the broadcasting revolution.

The pioneering couple have produced the irreverent, low-budget "The Nate and Di Show" out of a small office in their Mount Pleasant, S.C., home for the past year. From here, they "podcast" their popular talk program to thousands of Internet listeners around the world.

Recently, though, these 20-something mini-storage facility managers hit the big time. By landing a sponsorship deal to promote "Big Love," a new HBO drama about a polygamous family, Nate and Di have moved one step closer to their ultimate goal of self-employment.

"As far as moving us closer to quitting day jobs, it's a major step," Nate said. "We've been clamoring for over a year to get major media sponsors involved in podcasting, and it's finally happened." ....
