Yesterday Yahoo! announced the Yahoo! Shopping Paid Syndication Program beta.  The program is similar to Amazon's affiliate program and allows site owners to earn revenue from displaying Yahoo! shopping content on their sites.

Whether you're working on a shopping mash-up, a next generation social commerce destination, or you simply want to integrate shopping comparison features into your content site, this program is for you. Yahoo! Shopping will be accepting a limited number of applicants for the Shopping Paid Syndication Program during the initial beta phase

The Yahoo! Shopping APIs enable you to use Yahoo! comparison shopping data to power your site or application. Using our APIs, you can search our database of millions of product offers from thousands of merchants to create applications that provide comparison shopping and product search functionality, as well as display user reviews. Best of all, our paid syndication beta allows you to generate additional revenue directly from your site!

The following APIs are available for use:

Product Search

Allows you to search for product offerings that correspond to a particular keyword. The search can be limited to a specific merchant, price range, or product category.

Also enables you to narrow search results or build a browse shopping experience with category and attribute based refinement.

Catalog Listing

Allows you to display a comparison grid with product offerings and prices from several merchants. Returns tax, shipping, and total price if zip code is provided.

Catalog Specs

Allows you to get key specifications for a given product to enhance display of the price comparison grid.

Merchant Search

Allows you to retrieve and display ratings for merchants offering a given product.

User Product Review

Allows you to display user ratings and reviews, including usefulness of reviews, for a product.

Yahoo! Shopping Paid Syndication Program Beta

The Yahoo! Shopping Paid Syndication Program enables websites to integrate with Yahoo! Shopping and share in the revenue generated when qualified traffic is sent to our advertising partners. Commercial use of the Yahoo! Shopping APIs is currently available in a beta offering, and we are actively soliciting partners that have built sites that offer compelling or innovative shopping experiences.
