Crybaby PeSAsh!tes Whine Whine Whine That eBay is Suspending Bad Sellers
PeSA issued a statement because eBay is finally enforcing rules against some of its larger sellers and several PeSA members have been suspended since last Summer.

FYI, the majority of the PeSAsh!tes who were suspended had 1000's of negative feedbacks, feedback percentages below 97%, and a long history of customer complaints about items not received and items not as described.  Several of the NARU'd PeSA members also had unsatisfactory BBB records.

Taking a look at our eBay Top 25 negative feedback rankings (link below), and reading the INR/SNAD feedback comments unsatisfied customers have left, there are several more PeSA members who should be given the boot--started with #1 on the chart who has almost 19,000 negatives and a feedback percentage of 89%, and a certain shipping gouging poster seller whose 96.5% feedback percentage (4000+ negatives) would be much worse if he hadn't "convinced" buyers to give him  3100 mutual withdrawals.

Quote:The Professional eBay Sellers Alliance (PESA) issued a statement announcing its concern with recent member suspensions from eBay...

But it's critical that sellers receive common sense treatment regarding rules issues - especially shopper favorites with very high positive feedback ratings. If a reputable seller [newsflash Jonathan--reputable sellers don't have 100s/1000s of INR/SNAD complaints and FB percentages below 97% like several of your suspended members did] is in violation of a policy, eBay needs to make a phone call and speak with the seller to inform them of the issue. If they fail to acknowledge or remedy the problem in a reasonable time frame, then a penalty is warranted." [why should PeSA members be given a phone call and time to fix a problem when smaller sellers are given no notice at all?]

Durzy said eBay is not targeting large sellers, nor is it targeting small sellers. "We expect all sellers to comply with eBay rules. We don't think large sellers should be given a pass. We are giving them as much communication as possible. We are not unleveling the playing field for policy violations."

Re: Crybaby PeSAsh!tes Whine Whine Whine That eBay is Suspending Bad Sellers
I think PeSA and the BBB have completely different definitions of  'reputable seller'. PeSA defines a reputable seller as one who has a high feedback rating (regardless of the number of customer complaints about never receiving products, etc.) while the BBB defines a reputable seller as a seller who doesn't rip off their customers.  As a buyer, I prefer the BBB's definition...I think it is much more accurate than PeSA's definition. :Smile

On the subject of sellers not getting any warning from eBay, there was an article today on a seller who had his listings pulled and couldn't even get eBay to answer his emails (unlike PeSA members he didn't have an account manager at eBay): http://community.tuliptools.com/index.ph...238.0.html

So they're whining because the playing field isn't quite as unlevel as they'd prefer?

Maybe ebay itself is beginning to analyze the market shifts in revenue,
consumer loyalty, and the TRUE numbers of sell through and hits on their site.

Maybe they are just beginning to realizing that by courting these
.99 cent sellers with super high S&H, horrible feedback and terrible customer service
that it is just another factor that is continuing to further eroding IT's marketplace.

Probably just a coincidence. Plus it looks like they have a
whole new set of boot lickers right behind them to keep up the appearances
and keep that revenue flowing.

The press release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Reputable Sellers Caught in Crosshairs of eBay Rules Crackdown, according to Professional eBay Sellers Alliance

PESA supports strong enforcement, but seeks better communications

The Professional eBay Sellers Alliance (PESA, www.gopesa.org), representing over 800 high-volume eBay sellers generating over seventy million eBay transactions and $1 billion in eBay sales annually, today announced its concern with recent member suspensions from eBay.

PESA is rare among trade associations in that it has long lobbied for more consistent policy enforcement to protect buyers. “Shoppers and reputable sellers suffer when fraudulent sellers, counterfeiters and rules violators are allowed to compete on a level playing field,” explained PESA Executive Director Jonathan Garriss. “eBay’s rules enforcement is a step forward, but we’re saddened to see a ‘shoot first and ask questions later’ approach with longstanding reputable sellers.”

In the high-volume, low-margin world of professional eBay sellers, even a brief unexpected suspension of listing privileges can cut off cash flow and jeopardize a seller’s livelihood. A number of PESA members who have been long standing members of the community have been impacted. Consumer-favorite sellers with tens of thousands of eBay transactions and 98+% positive ratings have seen their eBay activities suspended with little or no notice due to minor violations.

“We applaud eBay’s new efforts to protect shoppers. In fact, PESA would welcome greater seller verification to fight fraud and counterfeit merchandise. But it’s critical that sellers receive common sense treatment regarding rules issues – especially shopper favorites with very high positive feedback ratings,” said Garriss. “If a reputable seller is in violation of a policy, eBay needs to make a phone call and speak with the seller to inform them of the issue. If they fail to acknowledge or remedy the problem in a reasonable time frame, then a penalty is warranted.”

The sense among PESA members is that the recent crackdown has caused them to fear catastrophic consequences if they inadvertently overlook the fine print within one of eBay’s 150+ listing policies. PESA members have applauded eBay for opening new communications channels with its top sellers, such as the Top Seller Account Manager program. But these account managers – who are highly regarded by PESA members – have not been involved in communication with sellers regarding these policy violations. Many PESA members feel their account managers would diligently track them down in the middle of the night to warn them and avoid a potential suspension, if given the opportunity.

Garriss concludes, “PESA members remain committed to working with eBay to button up violations, and crackdown on fraud, counterfeits, and those who won’t comply with the rules.”

If they want sympathy from the 99% of eBay users who can't even get a helpful response to an email, they should have left that sentence out.  Puke
