I see one of the new Showcase stores I talked about (Ghost store) a while back has made an apperence. http://www.wagglepop.com/stores/Labrador...ryandGifts
I caught that one right away. What a coincidence that this store shows up just when the store count is seriously dipping. As discussed earlier in this thread, the count dipped to 305 then jumped back up to 308. Those new additional stores was discussed earlier today. Then the count dropped back to 305! I found the 3 stores that left. Combined they represented about 900 listings. Keith of course was one of them. Quote:Everyone, just to let you know I diid a-lot of reasearch and investigating yesterday. You won't want to miss this later today. Truth, we have to put our heads together more often. As you know I've been deep in research too. I'd hate to learn we've both been researching the same thing! Maybe we should co-ordinate our efforts?

Keith!
keith, Glad you made it over here. I won't be answering your last email as you obviously solved the problem. Have you looked at Tazbar as a possible venue? From your eBay experience, do you sell frequently to England, other European countries or just internationally in general? If Europe is in the picture then Tazbar would serve you well. They are also UK based and growing rapidly. There is no cost to list - only final value fees so you would have nothing to lose by giving them a try. I know your boot out the door came rather suddenly but have you got back-ups of your listings? If so you can just copy/paste them into Tazbar and you're up and running again in no time. Speaking of your listings, are you aware they are still active on WP and open for purchase? This happens and has happened to many poppers that left...shall we say...abruptly. Unless each listing is manually closed which of course you didn't have the time to do they remain. They won't show up in a site search but they could show up through an SEO search of if an item was bookmarked on WP by a potential buyer. As far as KaRay's claim you owe them money - tell that idiot to go pound salt. Many of us were given the same line of . Some paid to make WP go away but some ex-sellers told him eat . You will be threatened with legal action if you do not comply. Call him on it. It's an empty threat. You have had a first hand taste of how this operates but it's just a drop in the bucket. When you have time cruise through the pages of the thread and you'll learn just how unscrupulous a character KaRay really is. He's a jerk.
Only problem I see with Tazbar might be if there are limitations on selling things like swords/knives to other countries. Otherwise, I hear they are doing really good. Swords might make a good niche market that would work well on a stand alone website...if you're interested in going that route down the road. Sherrand, tell us how you really feel about Ray.
Never argue with an idiot they drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

FYI: No weapons of any kind can be sent to Germany, and several other European countries. Nor can you send war memorabilia with the Nazi symbol. Go into USPS and look up customs restrictions and you can get the list of prohibitions.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I've not tried Tazbar or Ecrater. I will have to look into them. As for selling international I do sale anywhere the money can come from...LOL. The only thing is most international bidders don't want to spend the money for shipping so I had to mark my items on Ebay as U.S and Canada because I was having alot that was buying but refusing to pay the high shipping. For instance just about any sword to the U.K costs around $60.00 and thats the cheaper one. If I send the same sword to Austrailia it costs. $125.00 so I can't really blame them. But it got too expensive for me to deal with. I only get a few from time to time that are willing to pay the high fee. They are die hard sword fans. I too really hope I can find a nich somewhere but right no I've had no luck anywhere but the dreaded FEEBAY.

River Rat,
I would love to open my own website. I just don't have the know how to build it and all the technicals of doing so. Otherwise I would jump into it quick fast and in a hurry...LOL. I also have no idea what it would cost to build it. Keith |

Now keep in mind that the website isn't big (in terms of room) but if you have say a small inventory of swords, you could set the page up, and use paypal buttons which take a buyer to paypal for payment. Or if you have lots of inventory you can still utilize the website as an advertising page with clickable banners to all the sites you do sell on. Here is the link http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/office...0001453mrt |

Chiquita,
Thanks for the info. I will definitely have to look into this. I see you can get bigger packages as well. Do you know anything about it? Wether it's hard to build or not? I've not looked at any before because I had figured it would be hard to build one. I'm looking in but I'm going to go snoop on this page a bit. |
