Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I predict that once the store count falls below 300, the whole site will start falling like a row of dominos. That's a near 80% loss in business, and even the most die-hard Pop evangelists would have a hard time explaining that happenstance with a "sales are great for me", dancing bunny face. Should there be a few stray Poppers still rallying around the flagpole, they'll be too far out in the ozone to be of much use to Ray in a practical sense, although they would still serve to bolster his already over-blown ego.
In the end Ray will have accomplished what he set out to do: have a nice ride, for as long as it lasted, at the Poppers' expense. In the meantime, he's pocketed enough change to float his boat (along with the residual income he'll be receiving from selling our info to 3rd party "partner" spammers) until he dreams up another scam to line his pockets by conning more gullible suckers into parting with their hard-earned cash. And life will go on. (I can never find the smilely I want, but the eat popcorn one goes here) |

Quote:This is just my opinion, my preferences and my shopping habits. I don't give a fat flying fart whether an auction has a gallery photo or not. It might mean peering at the screen a bit harder and a few more clicks of the mouse for me to research the listing but so what. As usual, Sherrand, your posts are eloquent and thought-provoking. Your logic is undeniable. But, as you said, you are NOT the typical buyer (neither am I, for that matter). The bottom line is I have to dumb down my listings to pander to the majority of buyers who are e-commerce channel surfers. The sad truth is, if you don't grab them in a nano-second with a picture or a flashy title, the majority will move on. As cheap as I am (and I am -- just ask my DH), I put gallery pictures on every listing. Unlike Sherrand, I don't have the luxury of relying on another job that pays the bills. E-commerce is my livelihood, and most buyers have the attention span of an amoeba. That's just reality.
Interesting topic, When I shop online my main concern is quality and value. I need to find the best of what I am looking for at the best price possible. I never buy from anyone with unreasonable shipping prices, and I check the feedback good. I think as sellers our buying habbits are different than someone who only buys. For example, anytime I need something online I try to find the item off ebay now to help support sellers trying to make a break from ebay. I figure that is my little way of supporting alternative sites. To me a gallery picture makes no difference to me, its the bottom line that matters.

Ya know I've wondered that myself. Can you imagine eBay (ok, ANY other site) posting a notice on the board warning sellers to pay or else, lol? Ray is such a tard.
Can you imagine a site that actually would have that many deadbeat sellers? What a bunch of BS to explain away the "voluntary" store closings. How awful that there are poppers who believe this too, because when a seller leaves in good standing no less, the others believe everybody who leaves is a deadbeat. Thanks scoop (my new beauty consultant)
Ray No other professional site would pull this garbage just to cover up the fact that they are loosing sellers bigtime! They are not just walking away anymore they are running away! :popcorneaters: :lies2n: |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I just noticed that there are 3 more stores. Did Ray read my most recent post and turn 3 dummy stores back on? I noticed e-Pet Products is there with the same single item. I got a kick out of the links in the store. One says "to visit our items (item), please click here". Another says "To visit our Feedbacks page on WP, click here - (very light reading here)". Very light reading indeed -- one feedback from a seller. In fact, there are 33 stores with 10 items or less. I didn't check them all, but a good many simply contain links to their REAL stores.

DB, You are spot on with the ghost stores. KaRay must be padding the numbers for the deliquent cut coming. One is dbdiscounts, a store we are all familiar with. Remember it? The seller and buyers all from Cuyahoga County in Ohio? He sure likes that one as he uses it alot. Another 'new' one I had tagged as empty/inactive for a while, Northern Plains. The 3rd one could actually be legit - too soon to tell.
KaRay has become awesome at multi-tasking. While cranking up the store count he still managed to delete this post PDQ: Quote:Advanced Selling: Wagglepop Stores - Why is our Google & Froogle feeds not being up dated??? This seller will probably make an exit soon. I'm kind of jealous. I think KaRay is causing sellers to leave faster than we are able to convince them. BTW, I don't see any thread started by KaRay warning of impending doom to the February account non-payers? Can anyone else find one?
The one thing you can never afford to lose is your temper.

You are right Unique, the store is gone taking 359 items with it.
Edited to add: But the items that were in it are still alive.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:I chaged the name of my store a little over a week ago to get my name more categorized with what I sale. I was wondering why our feeds here hasn't been updated? I changed it almost a week ago and my old Keith's Wholesale Heaven is still pulling up. As long as they don't get updated I can't get any exposure other than the work I do myself. Aren't we paying a monthly fee here. If you are paying fee's you shoud get service not what I feel as lied to. I know if you go to froogle and look you will FIND my wagglepop keith ads. This is what I've done myself (with help) not what has been done from here. As for google the only thing that pulls up is still my old add. Just like I said yesterday. The froogle feed is not obviously being updated, you can search it with the exact title, and newer listings are not there. Without froogle feeds the sales will totally tank. Most of the traffic to WP is coming from the feeds. My new website stats on google show that almost all my views, and clicks into my site are from froogle. I also believe that the majority of ecrater sales come from froogle too. Edited to add- Is it just moi, but it appears this poster has been lurking here and reading the posts. |
