Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Ray's Rope A Dope
That's right, what we are seeing now with WP2 is not what it seems. All the signs point to something else happening in the short term. Here are some of my reasons: 1) The grand opening is a nonfactor now. Yes in less then a month what we were told would last for 6 months has all been forgotten about. The cheerleaders are not posting about it are they. Some know that it was a wasted effort and some know what is going on behind the scenes. 2) Something happened to the server package the day of the grand opening. Was it downgraded from dedicated to shared servers? I would say yes, look at the problems with speed of the site and how many times the site has crashed in a month. Too many problems and you don't need to shut a site down to add 2 banners. Maybe if anyone knows how to do a ping test do it and post the results from different times throughout the day. Compare those results to a site with known dedicated servers and you will see what I mean. This also cuts the costs to operate the site down to next to nothing. 3) Ka/Ray is confused when posting in the WP forums now. Remember there are benchmarks that were posted in the beginning of 07' but yet Ka/Ray post something about 1 new store a day which won't even come close to the first benchmark in 08'. My guess is that Ray is confused about what he is working on. Is it plan A, B or C Ray? More likely it is the plan for what comes next. 4) Where are the cheerleaders? Oh yes it seems we have a new head cheerleader that has gone from 1 item listed for over 6 months to over a thousand items and multiple stores. give me a break!! Is this the new investor in Ray's next adventure? Could be, or is it someone who was in the inner circle all along, maybe even Ray himself? take a look at there best sellers page. Remember what happened the last time that term was used and by whom? Well there it is again. I went to bat for that person last time thinking that phrase was poorly chosen words. Boy was I wrong and I am sorry I did that. What gives this person the desire to post a page like that within a week of coming to life after being dormant for so long? 5) Where is the promised advertising? So far I saw 3 days of google adwords with the keyword being wagglepop. There was some other smaller and less costly text link stuff but nothing that would suggest that Ray spent more then $100.00 for advertising. I can tell you there has been NO print advertising in the local area to WP. My theory: The grand opening was like throwing a bone to a pack of dogs. It served it's purpose to Ray. Keep the sellers occupied for more time and cut your costs at the same time. Collect as much income from the dead site so he can concentrate on the next plan. Possibly another auction venue under a different name not WP or maybe a marketplace site or something along the lines of Craig's list. Something is happening it is too dead at the forums inside WP. The sellers are posting there sales in those foums which prove the sales reports have been false. Going back to that term the best sellers. That is what makes them feel as if they are powersellers on eBay. Please get real poppers that term is annoying and it makes everyone of them look bad. Why would someone downgrade a store to basic if they are doing so well with sales? My guess is that someone is privy to information we are not. None the less it was a poorly chosen excuse to downgrade and inflicts suspicion about what that person has stated in the past. The rope a dope is being played right now. Our attention has been to help the sellers there and the new ones that might stumble across that site. The SEO post was full of lies and nothing more. Ka/Ray is posting less and less in the forums because ray is working out the final details of his next scam. This has been in the works for months. There never was any intention to spend any money to advertise for the sellers at WP and Ray never intended to advertise for the venue name itself. Wagglepop is a name that is associated with deception and nothing more. Do a search and look what comes up. Ray knows this and would be a fool to waste money advertising a name that is surrounded in turmoil. he will such the sellers dry and in the meantime work out the final details in the next scam he will pull. His greed is his drive and he has help from a few sellers. Those sellers are not the best believe me. If anything those sellers should be ashamed of there statements and actions as they have caused hurt to many people. We have won the battle against poopland. It may not seem like that but the site is in a critical state. It will never amount to anything more then what you see today. The war is a different story. The battle field will change sometime soon. The old battle field needs to be cleaned up and some including me will continue to do that. The next scam will be easily spotted, but it will look different. I will continue until this scam artist recieves the punishment he deserves. let the truth be told u1it4less - "it's all in the name.." |

Quote:Was it downgraded from dedicated to shared servers? No. Ezzi only offers dedicated servers. Does WP have a less powerful dedicated server than this forum? Yes. Ezzi's top processor is a P4HT 3.0Ghz (The TT server uses a dual core Core 2 Duo). I'd also be willing to bet WP only has 1 GB RAM (this server has 2 GB)

Quote:wagglepop view charts Quote: raffic Rank for Wagglepop.com: What's This?[/quote] BBH, Did WP need to be shut down to implement the 2 banners that were added on the day of the grand opening? Do you think it was possible that the shut down on the day of the grand opening was to downgrade the servers? The reason why I ask is because I am told to run an auction site you should have at least 2 GB Ram. Also the site has had nothing but problems and slower speeds since March 1st. let the truth be told u1it4less - "it's all in the name.." |

More replies to the "survey":
Quote:I've been here since May. I've had basic store most of the time, but I did upgrade to a featured a few months ago. After a couple of months, I dropped back down to a basic. I worked on my category headers a few weeks ago and traffic has now come to a standstill. and Quote:Basic Storeand Quote:Level - Basic since Sept. 2006and Quote: have a basic storethis one's a hoot Quote:I don't post much either--but thought I would pass along my info too: You've had 2 sales in 3 months -- WP traffic reports look like a black hole. Yep, WP will sure give eBay a run for its money, all right! and Quote:Not enough to warrant the time or money I have to put into everything, on top of working full time. And with the health scares in the family lately, I think this time would be better off spent with them. And this from a BIG CHEERLEADER Quote:Basic store:and Quote:Good morning, I do not post very often but wanted to add my wonderful sales!! Yeah, I have an idea -- PUT DOWN THE KOOLAID and PUT YOUR TIME AND ENERGY INTO SOMETHING THAT WORKS. and this one Quote:Basic Jan & FebHmmm ... 7 invoices under $10. That's a total of $70 for a $50 featured store. Great business decision, Popper. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Truth, you and I are on the same page. As I have said here on several occasions, Ray will squeeze as much blood as he can from these sellers for as long as he can, then go buy a new pair of fuzzy slippers, take his bankroll and move on to the next scam. It goes like this: 1) Monthy fee to Ray - no sales for Poppers. Score? Ray 1, Poppers 0 2) AdSmart words = $$ to Ray, no traffic to Poppers. Score? Ray 2, Poppers 0 3) Wagglestuff = $$ to Ray, more worthless crap for Poppers. Score? Ray 3, Poppers 0 4) Featured & Showcase stores = $$ to Ray, no increase in traffic or sales to Poppers. Score? Ray 4, Poppers 0 5) Ray sells Popper info to "3rd party partners" = $$ to Ray, nothing for Poppers. Score? Ray 5, Poppers 0 6) Ray gets Poppers to write "product guides" for free (although they can't use them to promote themselves or their stores). Ray has rights to guides for sale, or ?? = $$ to Ray, nothing for Poppers. Score? Ray 6, Poppers 0 7) Ray can step up his own stores under various aliases on a site others are paying for, and make a few extra $$ "off the books" by pushing his own crap. Score? Ray 7, Poppers 0. 8) Ray gets bored and shuts down site. Takes his $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and starts new scam. Score? win-win for Ray, lose-lose for Poppers. |
