One thing I haven't followed lately is the activity of Ad-Smart. Is anyone still paying into that trojan horse? Does anyone know?
Sherrand, The AdSmart banners are still there - I've seen them since the AdSmart maintenance period a few days ago. But, the rule of "put them in an appropriate category ONLY" seems to be tossed out the window lately.
No surprises there. KaRay can only stretch himself so far and cannot cover every aspect of WP. Andrew and Christine are bogus; I think we all agree on that. So abuse of Ad-Smart running amok doesn't surprise me. I've researched every registration. There are literally 100's of members that have created 'Me" pages with their only intent being to direct traffic to their personal websites or their other selling venues. Some created as recently as 2 weeks ago. I haven't checked since. Of course these entrepreneurs have nothing to lose and maybe a hit or two to gain. WP is being spammed to death and that idiot doesn't even realize it because he's too busy lurking on forums, deleting posts to his, closing stores that are legitimate and dummying up ghost stores in an attempt to make them look believable. KaRay loses however because these Me pages are occupying a good portion of his bandwidth. Just like the 'we the people program' (not that it would have been effective), buying guides, and the expectation of selling tutorials that I posted about with CC1 quotes a few months ago. None of these materialized. NOTHING that would aid the sellers. Is invoicing corrected? Has the feedback process been addressed? Has the programming been adjusted to curtail duplication of listings? Has the closing an account process been simplified? Has the ONE post regarding category/sub-category creation been made a sticky as was asked for by a number of seller recently? The CC1 post advising "I'll bring it up at next Monday's meeting" was DELETED. Guess that means no sticky. Advertising isn't the only issue and for some of the poppers, not the main issue. A little help, seller friendly tools initiated, would have gone a long way towards KaRay keeping his income flush. Just my opinion. What that famous quote? Pride goeth before a fall? KaRay, you are in a downward spiral.
The one thing you can never afford to lose is your temper.
Speaking of deleted posts - did anyone see the thread that was deleted yesterday from the adv selling board? A new seller - one who has been on the boards alot, asking for help and opinions - was angry because a long-time seller asked to be removed from his "Wagglepop friends" (a popular thing to create, lately) page. The long-time seller felt since the new seller didn't know him, it wasn't a valid endorsement. The new seller felt the old seller was rude in his request. The thread deteriorated a little... then was gone. The long-time seller also asked in another of the "WP friends" threads to be removed from everyone's friends page. I don't get it? I would think it could only help in terms of visibility? JoJo |
OT - I set up a new "links manager" on one of my other sites today. I added some of you that I already had on my other site, but please feel free to submit your site if its not there. If you can't do a reciprocal link, that's ok (I'm a nice person, lol), just put your URL in the reciprocal field. Of course, reciprocal links are appreciated Also, if I have you listed but the wrong URL, let me know and I'll get it fixed for ya! The link is: http://www.ktpetsupply.com/links.php / end hijack
Do you have a small banner or logo I can add to my site? I'm sure a lot of our customers have dogs and cats too. I just tried to submit my site, but I got the following error message: Code: Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_REQUIRE in /home/content/k/t/p/ktpet/html/links_submit_success.php on line 34 Probably something as simple as 'white space'.
Eww I hate errors. Lol, I hate white space too!!! I'll have to check it out - tomorrow though, my brain is fried. I'll go ahead and manually add you in! I don't have a banner, but I'll get one made up. I've been meaning to do that anyway!

I have a question. When you are talking about google adwords. When you say views vs. clicks does that mean that when a search is done on google, say for driftwood, the views is the number of times that it is displayed in the search, and a click is if they actually click on your ad? Is it like froogle when it lists impressions and clicks? It is the click that takes them to your website is this correct? I assume you are not charged for views, but only for clicks.
Yes nana girl... right on all counts... edited to add... sniped by truth... LOL |
