RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Is Wagglepop Encouraging Its Users to Violate Other Sites TOS By Spamming?  Wagglepop spam is everwhere.  The terms of service of many sites are being violated by Ray Romeo's army of spammers.  Spamming other sites is openly talked about on the Wagglepop boards, and the site's management has taken no action to discourage the spamming.  Wagglepop management has posted on many of the threads where the spamming of other sites is being discussed.

Some web sites that have been hit by spam in violation of their TOS: MySpace ( http://www.myspace.com/wagglepop ), hundreds of posts on Craigslist advertising Wagglepop, thousands of spam posts on eBay's message boards, and many other sites.

The MySpace TOS:

Quote:# Non-commercial Use by Members. The MySpace Services are for the personal use of Members only and may not be used in connection with any commercial endeavors except those that are specifically endorsed or approved by MySpace.com. Illegal and/or unauthorized use of the MySpace Services, including collecting usernames and/or email addresses of Members by electronic or other means for the purpose of sending unsolicited email or unauthorized framing of or linking to the MySpace Website is prohibited. Commercial advertisements, affiliate links, and other forms of solicitation may be removed from Member profiles without notice and may result in termination of Membership privileges. Appropriate legal action will be taken for any illegal or unauthorized use of the MySpace Services.

Craigslist:

Quote:k) that constitutes or contains  "affiliate marketing," "link referral code,"
"junk mail," "spam," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes," or unsolicited
commercial advertisement;

l) that constitutes or contains any form of advertising or solicitation if:
posted in areas of the craigslist sites which are not designated for such
purposes; or emailed to craigslist users who have not indicated in writing that
it is ok to contact them about other services, products or commercial interests.

m) that includes links to commercial services or web sites, except as allowed
in "services";

Maybe this is Ray's "bold and innovative" way of advertising. If so, it stinks. It's not new, not bold and certainly not innovative. Tacky maybe. Pathetic definitely.  Big Grin

My 2 cents on this whole "other" mass Mall auction site crap.

I really do hope the sheep do find a new pasture to chew their cud in.
I really do.

But I just wished they were not so easily herded into yet another pasture
full of mind fields and by design, made to make the herders rich NOT the sheep.  Nono

I also hope that many of these sheep grow up to become
shepherds of their own pastures
and learn how to herd the BUYERS into their own little pastures.

IF ANY OF YOU SHEEP ARE LURKING...
it truly IS the way to go if you are serious about
being and independent online FULL TIME seller.  Thumbsup

It IS boring, lol. Nothing new here. I suspect that you, Cranky, bbh, Amy, Stardust, and Anita could all predict exactly what he (RAY ROMEO  Happy001        ) is going to say/do next. And, we all know by now that it is a train wreck. So, it's BORING!

That's why it's fun. I love to be right!  Occasion14 (Especially since it doesn't happen often.  Big Grin)

WP is beating WorldAuctions in the eBay userID race.  I wonder how many of those IDs have posted on the eBay Stores board since May? Smile

karen wp Wrote:Not a big mystery here.

How do you think we do research into the features that we members request that exist on eBay that we may want to integrate?

That's how Smile
karen wp Wrote:We constantly use our research accounts on other sites (and many times multiple accounts) for small purchases or sales, to better understand the purchase flow, the invoicing systems, response times, and unique features.

We set things up for both buying and selling, and many of the features we have implemented came directly from that research, and is ongoing constantly as we try to improve the site in the ways membership requests.

When someone says "I do this on there", we often go "there" and try it for ourselves.

There's nothing like going through the actual process to understand it.

Without those R&D accounts, we'd be lost Smile
karen wp Wrote:Hello Members,

Actually, I just checked, and we have 14 active eBay accounts across staff at this time for research and development.

That's how we built the E-Import component of the soon to be released InventoryDirect bulklister.

In total across all kinds of retail or auction sites on the Web, I counted 92 earlier this morning, though it's likely more since we're constantly checking out new sites.

You can't compete if you don't understand your competition. Smile
