Waggleopia doesn't have any type of incentive process for its sellers. Participation just might improve if there was something geared toward the sellers.

Oh wait. Slap me sillier - there's no incentive for the buyers either.

Sorry to keep jumping in and out of here today, but we're renovating and it's rather hard to stay put for any length of time with all the workmen and massive messiness around this place. This will probably be going on for the next 2-3 months. *sigh* And then I have all these poor terrified cats milling around. Cats don't like change and their entire lives are being disrupted, poor Kiddens.

To elaborate further on my last comment about buyer incentives, the Red Carpet and Buy More Now "incentives" are a joke and a half. Almost from the get-go of WP2, many sellers were pissing and moaning about having to provide discounts for buyers on the Babbleopia forums. They openly discussed how they would put those discounts into padded postage or pricing. That's NOT an incentive for the buyer. Why even offer those discounts if someone can go elsewhere to get competitive pricing?

And we all know how difficult it is for buyers to make payments for the merchandise they are wanting ...

I've always had my own little buyer incentives - all those years on eBay and then those 8 months at Waggleopia - that bit into my profit, but I have always had a faithful buyer's body due to my own incentives and still have repeat customers going back to 1995 when eBay was in its infancy. But one thing about it, those incentives are tax write-offs if one keeps a good set of books to report to the IRS each year.

The 2 sellers that recently posted goodbye on WP are now gone. Neither one closed their listings first so they are probably floating around as open.

KD Used Book Store - 195 items, closed.
GladRags Tops & Stuff - 83 items, closed.

and

H&M Gifts and More now closed. 
B&B Jeweler - 1 item, closed. Registered at the beginning of this month. Another short stay.

there's no incentive for the buyers either.

There's a double incentive for buyers to buy elsewhere: registration and phone verification.

I am asking that my store be closed. My personal situtation has changed. I can no longer afford the cost of being here.

I am leaving WP, this "Trust" based Community because I can no longer trust it. The practice of sanitizing inquiring posts, and threatening said posters with suspension for voicing their queries will not be tolerated any longer - by me.

Not at all Just surprised to see it here. If customer service isn't responding, try making a NEW post attention customer service perhaps and karen or one of the reps will see it I'm sure. Maybe they're back logged at the moment, but I'm sure they'll get to you soon.

They have blocked me from doing a post. I want my store closed but they wouldn't close it. My personal situtation has changed. I just can't do this anymore. Paying fees with no sales. Spending money I don't have. It isn't so much that I don't like WP I just don't have the money to keep paying which is what they want me to do.

Agan I'm sorry for using your post. I have been reading your post for some time. You seem to be trying hard as I was to make a go here but it just isn't working for me. I have emailed Karen several times. They want me to pay another month. I closed my listings before the new invoice came out.

Blocked your ability to make your own post? hmm, that's odd. I'm doing great sales at the moment but haven't added new items much waiting for the new fees to take effect from the post office but now I can list more cause each auction has prices I had to adjust manually. I figure summer is the WORST time to sell because people are out and enjoying life, if I can hang in there and at least sell enough per month to cover my fees I'm good. I'll wait it out and by winter, my stores name will be out there and word of mouth gets attention. I came from feebay and pretty much quit selling there last year after xmas, and started on yahoo but they're going the way of the doe doe bird so I have no problem spending 10 bucks a month here where it gets picked up on google. People are learning to search on google and not just on feebay now, it'll be the new era down the line. If you asked to close your store before the new invoice came out and had no listings before then I don't see why they wouldn't allow this last invoice to be null and void. I wish you luck in the future where ever you land. Maybe when things are hopping we'll see you again.

Thank you xxx. That is my point. They do this to sellers all the time. I can't pay and they wouldn't close my store so they can keep charging me and many, many others. There hasn't been any new anouncments or newsletters for months. This will get deleated soon, watch and see. They don't want the truth to get out. Where is their anouncments about the birthday?? All I want them to do is close my store so I can go on. Why isn't there a "Close My Store" button. It is because they want to keep charging people even after they want to close. They changed my customer ID so you can't even find my store is isn't HNgifts. But they still want me to pay. Its like I being held at "Getmo" The last I loooked this was still American.

The way I understand that it works is, if you do not pay your invoice, listings or not your store will close around the 19th of the month. It's that simple.

Now, if you could redirect all that energy from these boards and into the garden I'll bet you will probably have the most beautiful flower bed in your yard.

And that last one was really insulting and uncalled for of course it wouldn't be removed now would it?
