Just a question: Does the new seller of auto items violate WP own selling policy?

We understand sellers have reasons to list identical items at the same time. This is permissible, however, the following guidelines must be adhered to:

Sellers may not list more than (4) four identical, or materially identical items at any one time.
Sellers must have the multiple items available for bid or purchase. At no time is it permissible to list the same single item more than once.
Policy: Any seller who attempts to flood a category or any search result by "flooding" the marketplace may be indefinitely suspended, and all listings cancelled without notice or refund.

Cash, HELLO!!! Long time no see and it's great to do so now.  A very good point. If he isn't in violation he's skirting the edge of it.  Frankly at this point KaRay would welcome a flood from Moses himself.

No doubt in my mind that this squeaky new seller lurks here - or someone does on their behalf (Hi KaRay). Yesterday I posted these observation:

What is there to understand? POPPERS, you may be fewer in numbers but you are paying faithfully every month. YOUR dedication to WP should be recognized. The faulty and detrimental features that would contribute to healthy sales should be corrected for your sake and as your reward for sticking it out this long. WP wouldn't still be there if is wasn't for your determination to hang on today and that of the many who lost theirs and left. Why on earth hasn't someone on WP suggested that a portion of the 75,000 already alloted for advertising be redirected to fixing priority features that would immediately assist the sellers!!!  Good grief, the coffee is brewed - WAKE UP AND TAKE A WHIFF!

There never was 75,000 dollars for advertising - just 75,000 excuses as to why the site cannot be improved.

Rick, thank you for the congratulations. 9250 listings were uploaded in 2 days using InventoryDirect. The trick was to configure 250 listings at a time, upload the neccessary file, then go back and replace only the few fields that needed to be changed for the next file.

Lather, rinse, repeat. 37 times I think it was.

Yes xxxx, get busy! I would love to see someone outlist me, and you could be the man to do it.

xxx, don't give up. Your listings are much better than my listings of course. You could use a similar shortcut by leaving out images and detailed descriptions temporarily just to get your entire inventory posted quickly for buyers to see everything that you have available. Then you can go back through the listings as time allows to add the pictures, details, templates, etc. I don't know if you would ever even want to list that way, but the option is there.

What I plan to do next is to do a little bit of work very consistently over a long period of time. I plan to continue to learn (have already done an awful lot of that in the last few days), to have fun, and to make some extra money while I'm at it.

xxxxx, you are so right. Everyone can do this. I am very surprised that more sellers haven't already done it (I don't just mean the sellers here as I see that some have a great niche with wonderful handmade items or collectibles that don't lend themselves to bulk listing, but I don't see why more of the several-thousand-item sellers aren't here).

No xxxxx, no sales for me yet. It would be a shocker to have one already. I expect to have to work at this and establish a reputation first. My comment on the other thread was related to being impressed with InventoryDirect. The InvoiceDirect makes me nervous because it actually doesn't look all that direct. I will be nervous with buyers until I get a few sales under my belt and feel more comfortable with everything. I am sufficiently comfortable with InventoryDirect so far.

xxxxx, I will try to do better with categorization in the future as well as photos.

All these responses on the same thread in a short period of time. And each addresses an issue raised here - all except the suspicion that KaRay is and has helped them out.

How many people were able to get inventory direct to work the very first time yet alone list that many items. There were several sellers who got error messages, and many who gave up trying to get it to work. So this person comes in and in a few days masters it?

I guess its safe to post now that I am closing. Someone asked where my items could be found. At this time, I am selling on ecrater. Much different than listing on wagglepop. I did have decent sales at WP in the beginning up until the last two months. The last two months have been the pits. Very few sales and very little traffic. Well, there is plenty of traffic at ecrater and my sales are good right now. I would like to eventually have my own site, but for now this is good.

Be sure to add your eCrater link into your profile here. You started the day with 96 listings to go. I really commend you for the effort and time it took you to finish the job. You can now rest comfortably that your listings will not be a contributor to the inflated stats reflected on WP.

Cash, thanks for bringing that up. The answer would be YES ! According to research done by Truth, several of those models listed use the same part number set. That would make them "materially identical items" in my book. Of course, the powers that be will not do anything about it, since the mat guy is the new Moses, and will lead the divine one's followers to the promised land.  

And Eyes.... Welcome to the light !!

Edited to add: Nana girl, IMO, he HAS to be a drop-shipper. No way would he stock all of those, especially in ALL of those colors.
