Hi to all those that are new here. Just a question: Does the new seller of auto items violate WP own selling policy? Quote:We understand sellers have reasons to list identical items at the same time. This is permissible, however, the following guidelines must be adhered to: |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
No doubt in my mind that this squeaky new seller lurks here - or someone does on their behalf (Hi KaRay). Yesterday I posted these observation:
Wanna hear my take on it? This is a friend/associate of KaRays met through eBay Motors and he/she/it answered all their questions and helped them launch their store. This new seller is probably listing on WP as a favour to KaRay to help bolster the flagging store count and the morale that is dipping right along side of it. I bet they aren't even paying a monthly fee in exchange. I'll have to create a new category for store description. I'll call it 'artificially inflated'. Each listing states, "Actual product may differ from image shown". WHAT IMAGE?? Each listing reads the same with colour and interior location the only change in distinguishing one listing from the next. Each listing is blah, boring and shows no sign of serious intent to sell. This is the act of a desperate man er... whatever.

And to add to Truth's words about the floor mat guy; This post on the Community board stinks of KaRay philosophy: Quote:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 14 May 2007 16:41 What is there to understand? POPPERS, you may be fewer in numbers but you are paying faithfully every month. YOUR dedication to WP should be recognized. The faulty and detrimental features that would contribute to healthy sales should be corrected for your sake and as your reward for sticking it out this long. WP wouldn't still be there if is wasn't for your determination to hang on today and that of the many who lost theirs and left. Why on earth hasn't someone on WP suggested that a portion of the 75,000 already alloted for advertising be redirected to fixing priority features that would immediately assist the sellers!!! Good grief, the coffee is brewed - WAKE UP AND TAKE A WHIFF! There never was 75,000 dollars for advertising - just 75,000 excuses as to why the site cannot be improved.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one suspicious of this store's existence. The typical new seller, if they opt to post, comment on "glad to be here and why", or " friendly and helpful members", and other complimentary words or expressions. This one shows up stating none of this other than thanks for the welcome and debut themselves by spouting off the long haul mantra. I'm waiting for the follow-up. It should be something to the tune of "build it and they will come".

Yep I Want, same product, different colour. Indeed a great way to pump up the listing count when a single listing could mention availability in various colours. But the objective appears to be number of listings. Just more for 'potential' buyers to scroll through. With product not divided into categories (car make/years span etc) a buyer would have to rely on the search function to find what they are looking for. I shudder at the thought.
Miraculously the mat guy has today addressed each and every comment of critique I and others made. See for yourself: Quote:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 15 May 2007 16:53 Quote:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 15 May 2007 17:11 Quote:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 15 May 2007 17:48 Quote:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 15 May 2007 18:59 All these responses on the same thread in a short period of time. And each addresses an issue raised here - all except the suspicion that KaRay is and has helped them out. Folks, we have a new self-appointed morale officer on board.
The one thing you can never afford to lose is your temper.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
How many people were able to get inventory direct to work the very first time yet alone list that many items. There were several sellers who got error messages, and many who gave up trying to get it to work. So this person comes in and in a few days masters it?
:blinkie: Is the mat guy a dropshipper? |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Hello everyone. My store is empty! :cinqo1:
For those who do not know my store was http://www.wagglepop.com/stores/mmstreasures. I guess its safe to post now that I am closing. Someone asked where my items could be found. At this time, I am selling on ecrater. Much different than listing on wagglepop. I did have decent sales at WP in the beginning up until the last two months. The last two months have been the pits. Very few sales and very little traffic. Well, there is plenty of traffic at ecrater and my sales are good right now. I would like to eventually have my own site, but for now this is good. http://mmstreasures.ecrater.com/ |

Congratulation! Be sure to add your eCrater link into your profile here. You started the day with 96 listings to go. I really commend you for the effort and time it took you to finish the job. You can now rest comfortably that your listings will not be a contributor to the inflated stats reflected on WP. I'm glad you can report a healthy start on eCrater. All the best to you and welcome to the ex-popper, naysayer, infiltrator, troll, eBay paid informant...etc, etc. group. We love our status and hope you will too.

According to research done by Truth, several of those models listed use the same part number set. That would make them "materially identical items" in my book. Of course, the powers that be will not do anything about it, since the mat guy is the new Moses, and will lead the divine one's followers to the promised land. And Eyes.... Welcome to the light !! Edited to add: Nana girl, IMO, he HAS to be a drop-shipper. No way would he stock all of those, especially in ALL of those colors. |
