I for one would be willing to take a step back and see where the new posters take this thread... and that's a good thing!!! Remember, I don't really know anyone over there at WP anymore... I only know the people that where there when I was and most of them are here now. You all have had recent contact with them thru the forums. Maybe it's time for us to step back and you newer posters to use your knowledge and power of persuasion to lure them here. They won't listen to us... they don't even know us!! What do ya think newer peeps??
IMHO - it's always a good thing to get different perspectives on anything, but there's also a huge value that can be put on experience. Speaking from my own experience leaving WP - had this thread not been here and available to me, I'm not sure I would have given WP or the sellers there a second thought... I would have just gone on about my business as usual and in all honesty, still felt alone in being suckered for the few months I was! It's nice to know others have fallen for the same many many times, that you're not the first and hopefully, with sharing experiences of old and new x-poppers, it wont continue to happen. Because even though I joked a couple posts back about coming back here for WP3 - think about it - the amount of money Ray lines his bank account with while he has people believing... he can live like a king, save enough to get him by for a couple years till the 'heat' wears down on his (and only his) failing... and just when his bank account starts to dry up, he can resurrect himself and screw a whole new bunch of people to support himself again. I, for one, MUCH appreciated the thoughts of those who opened the shade and came out of hiding before me and I think it would be a great loss to lose those perspectives. |

Ok now I have a better understanding of what Sweet was saying.

I think it would be a loss too. But I can also respect if someone feels that they have accomplished what they set out to do and now feels they must move on. To anyone who does feel the need to step back or move on you will be missed. I enjoyed talking and sharing opinions with everyone here. |

I dont understand what is happening here. I have read every page and every posting. All of the sudden I feel like a Peeping Tom. I had some pretty bad things said about me on this thread when I was a WP cheerleader. I thought that was a bridge already crossed. If I am unwelcome here so be it. It has been fun.
Who put out the unwelcome sign? Have you heard anything approximating these sentiments from any TT-er here? I think what Sweet and others might be saying, is that now that WP is singing its swan song, there's not much work for us old-timers left to do here. The purpose of this thread was to show Ray for what he is and WP for what it is not, and such has been accomplished, as evidenced by the large number of new X-Poppers who have come on board. Many of the original bunch have left for greener pastures: gone on to start their own web sites, and more. It's part of the natural evolution of an X-Popper, and also part of what this thread and all of TT is about. I, for one, will continue to monitor the goings on at WP and post as long as there is something I feel I need to say. We love you, Pet Guy.
Love you too "T" Pet Guy, Moon, scoop and everyone else who has raised their eyebrows over Sweet's good-bye post. But what DB has posted above explains the motivation behind it better than I think I could. However since I never know when to shut up I'm going to take a stab at it anyway and hopefully you will all come to a better understanding of what Sweet was trying to convey. This thread was started May 16, 2006. Who ever thought is would reach the volume of posts, of membership inductees that it has? Certainly not the originals that launched it and kept it going. About four months after it's birth, the first refugees of WP2 started finding their way here. It was a new home that came with a sympathetic audience and a place where we could lick our wounds and vent. And boy did we ever! About three months after the commencement of this influx we built up a healthy group of 'newbies' and we built a presence on this thread. The original posters started to post less and less. Not because they had lost interest in the purpose or interest of it, not because they resented our presence, but because they were confident that the thread needed our more recent experiences to be effective, to survive in exposing KaRay and WP for what is was. The times dictated that the new generation spread the word about the fallacies of WP and it's owner, that they would be more effective - because we had been there; freshly disemboweled. What Sweet was trying to convey and what DB substantiated above is that it is time to pass the scepter again. There are so many new people here, fresh off the WP stores list. And you are all most welcome!! But you are people who today have the influence that we once possessed and you possess the power of having a greater effective to the cause with your peers which has always been the focal point of this thread. You are ex-poppers; The Next Generation. We are still here, behind you and with you but no longer needed to lead you or educate you. The schoolroom has a new teacher - you. And with that I am gently saying, as Sweet attempted to do, that you no longer need us. And we can now move on to other things because we have you to keep a finger on the pulse today. I have been asked to say that I speak not just for myself but for other old-timers on here. Truth for one shares my decision to pass the responsibility of educating the Kool-aid crowd into your hands. Now don't for a minute believe that we won't be posting here. You are not quit of us entirely. We too want to witness the death throes of WP and you can bet your patootie that we will all be here to share that moment. I will still provide store updates and other data. I won't let you down on that. But please understand why you might not see me posting as often as I have in the past. Because I don't need to - I have you now. Sherry - sherrand

As someone who was pretty much IP banned the first day I got booted, I hope no one is leaving who has a valid working IP on WP! I may have connections, but I cannot do it without the rest of the pieces to the puzzle...... |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Hmmm, quite a turn of events here. I hope this isn't the end of this thread. I want to see it to the real end. When WP2 shows up as a page error!
I understand what Sweet was saying. I can see how it was mis-understood too. I started with WP2 in January. Had never heard of it before so I missed WP1. I found the sellers there to be very nice and did make some friends. But, a month or so after I opened my store I found PSU and started lurking. I found the posting there to be true and started watching things at WP. I watched a couple of not so nice posts and their authors and their stores go "poof". It was the last 2 weeks events there that gave me all I could take. And I wasn't involved in any way. With exception of being friends with sellers. For the last 3 months, I keep expecting WP to not load at any given time. It hasn't happened yet. But I'm sure it's not far away. I know of several others who are moving their items and opening other stores elsewhere and are going to close their stores on WP. I figure I have till July 8th or 9th before I have to close mine. I don't have time to do it all right now - too many other things going on and a 5 day vacation coming up away from home. I'm waiting for the fireworks at WP to be at the end of the month...when subscription fees are due again. I won't be paying mine. I'll be gone one way or another. I do have time put into my store and my store was something to be proud of. But I learned a lot of things I didn't know before so it was time well spent on education if nothing else. I did sell quite a bit from there and I know I'll sell where I'm going. So I am not concerned with my time. I am concerned with the time other sellers have spent and I do hope they have learned something that will help them in their next online adventure. I really feel bad for the time The Pet Guy spent on his store and those who had thousand of items listed one at a time. I loved all of our stores. I've said that a million times. To all you old timers - I don't think I've ever stepped on yer toes, called you names, or fed you any pro-wagglepop oatmeal... LOL I just lurked and listened and yes I learned from your posts and your wisdom. THANK YOU To all the lurking pro-poppers - sorry, if you are in it for the long haul as I once thought I was, the haul isn't going to be that long. It's a sinking ship. On a personal note - HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE FATHERS!

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quoted from a WP newbie
Quote:A friend on another site told me about this one. I was told, don't know if true, that this site was started by a former Ebay Powerseller. I figure if this is so, then this person may understand just how it is. For example I have already seen that you can ask a question of the site administrators and actually get an answer. On the other place you are simply refered to a list of possible solutions. I like being able to actually cantact a real person wheather I want to brag or bit*h makes no difference. Another new seller on WP - I give this one less than a month...

Sherry - sherrand
to all new TT members and X-Poppers I can't put it any better then what Sherrand has already said and I would like to thank her for saying it. The time has come for some of us who have made that choice to allow the newer X-Poppers and TT members to speak there mind while the old schoolers take a step back. Most of us including me and if not all of us wish your voice to be heard about your opinion and or experience with WP. This doesn't mean we are leaving this thread however. The newer memebers or posters to this thread can see things that some of us can't at this time or maybe it's just that we want your newer experiences to matter as much as some of our past experiences have to this thread. While I am remaining to monitor the going's on, as it was said before you may not see myself and some others as active as we were in the past. It has been said a few times that some think this thread is coming to an end, not a chance. Everyone here has a voice and has the ability to voice there opinion's. Call it whatever you want, a passing of the torch, a changing of the guard but it is not the end of this thread. Speak the facts and the truth and you will be heard, there is no doubt about it. Build the relationships we have and learn from each other while helping the people who need it as we have. Let the Truth Be Told Joe - Truth |
