BBH:
Your original link was to MonsterMarketplace. The last to MonsterCommerce. Now, I'm really confused. Does it cost extra to be part of the marketplace, then? I don't understand how this works, by what I see on the web sites. |

It's free to be listed on Monster Marketplace if you have a store/subscription with Monster Commerce. The marketplace looks like it's just a search engine for their stores.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Hey BBH:
Forgive me if I ask a question everyone else probably knows the answer to but me: How do you find out what the best search words are for optimization? When it comes to key words and stuff like that, I'm pretty much guessing. Edit: I've been in communication with a lady who has a Shopify store to try to get some objective analysis. She said the store was doing well until recently (typical for the entire industry) and thinks the monthly fee might be a deterent to new stores. The comments in response to the change in policy on the announcements page were less than supportive of the change. She also said setting up her store was a pain. She couldn't do it -- her web-savvy son had to get it up and running for her. Not exactly what someone who is cyber-retarted, has no patience and little time wants to hear. |

Volusion is only $99 for unlimited items. Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I finally registered!
Well, it looks like Ray has been busy... 259 auctions on eBay now. Thanks to everyone who helped me realize I needed to close. I did open a new account last week, and just posted a message on the WP board to hopefully wake everyone up... http://www.wagglepop.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=6305 In case it gets deleted before morning... "Good evening, Why not have your fearless leader, Ray Romeo, who supposedly hates eBay and believes in Wagglepop 100%, spam eBay as he encourages members to do to other sites? After all, he currently has over 250 items listed for sale on eBay, so all he has to do is add a 1-Line plug for Wagglepop! If he hates eBay so much, he won't mind doing this to help your cause. View his store: http://stores.ebay.com/The-Vintage-Paper-Archive He has also had several sales in the past couple weeks, many more than 99% of the sellers on Wagglepop have had: http://search-completed.ebay.com/search/search.dll?GetResult&sacat=-1&ftrt=1&coaction=compare&fsop=1&sass=printed442 And if anyone has any difficulty believing this is really him, check out his past ID's: http://contact.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ReturnUserIdHistory&requested=printed442 I just find it amazing that Ray/Wagglepop had no money for advertising, but suddenly has 45 cents to list with Buy It Now, plus 35 more cents for gallery (total 80 cents) for over 500 listings in the past month. That's at least $400 of last month's fees, and he hasn't sold nearly enough to make that money back. If he doesn't care about advertising the site HE owns, why should YOU? If he doesn't care enough about Wagglepop to sell on it himself, then why should YOU? Go to a free auction site and advertise yourself. It won't cost you a penny and you can make just as many sales. Here is the scenario... Ray doesn't have his $5,000+ monthly cash cow (Wagglepop) anymore OR Ray doesn't believe in Wagglepop's income earning potential anymore and has to sell on eBay, proving that he really hasn't spent a dime on this site beyond hosting OR Ray doesn't think he could sell anything on his own site either OR All three... You decide. Stick with a site who's owner has so little faith in it that he is selling on eBay, and clearly proven that the money was just in his pocket all along by selling on eBay again once the stores dropped below 200 ($2,000/month) OR move on to a free site that offers all the features of Wagglepop, and more, including instant checkout/payment, buyer friendly registration (no phone call crap to run off the buyers) and as many, or more seller tools. Or, you could just do as he did and go back to the evil eBay." >

Oops... Sorry DB, I got you in trouble. Someone on the WP board thinks I am you! I am going to clear that up right now.
But I sure did stir up a hornet's nest
