One big difference. Jim Baker was prosecuted and we all know how Tammy ended up. People are finding the truth but not fast enough. Can he be punished with any legal action?

One big difference. Jim Baker was prosecuted and we all know how Tammy ended up. People are finding the truth but not fast enough. Can he be punished with any legal action? [/quote] I've wondered that myself. I think at one time Truth, who is well-versed on New York law, said he thought there were grounds for legal action on at a least a couple issues. Tampering with PMs, for example, in any way IS illegal. Not only is it a violation of the Privacy Act, but it is a federal offense to tamper with the transmission of any personal mail by a carrier or any third party without a court order or express permission from the sender. I questioned this on the boards when I was at WP because one of my buyers told me staff had contacted her to "check up" on me and made references to statements I'd only made through a PM to her. This was done without my knowledge or consent, behind my back and my buyer was furious. Many of the cheerleaders defended their leader and likened it to intercepting employees' emails by an employer, which is legal. In Ray's case, however, sellers are PAYING for a service and are NOT employees. It would be no different than the postal service reading your mail, delivering what it wants and contacting your recipients to verify information contained therein. Customs officials can't even open mail without consent, which a sender gives when filling out the customs forms for mailing. I know there was a complaint filed with the BBB on Ray and although I have no legal background, I think a good argument could be made that he is misappropriating funds and in violation of the "intent", at least, of the contract he has with his sellers. |

I thought the end of that note was rather bullyish - and the BBB has a LOT to do with what's going on over there! But to brush it off like bullying someone (or even a veiled threat?) to pay an amount they do not owe? It sounded to me like he/she/whatever was saying "Oh come on now - it's only 10.00 - pay it and get this over with so I can stop harassing you for an amount you don't owe me, but I want anyway! Make life easy for both of us and give it to me just one more time!" |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
It looks like Wagglepop is really down. Not just a temporary "maintenance" issue, but really down. I saw it on PSU about an hour ago... I checked, and the header/logo, and footer links are in place, but the center content area is blank with the message "Page Not Found - Please check your URL and try again" and the text: "IP logged. Documented as # 8744018 for legal." It's obviously gathering a lot of attention because when I first checked it an hour ago, it was around # 8743200. Way to get page hits Ray! "Shut down" the site and watch traffic skyrocket!
IF this message is still showing in the morning, IMO... He saw that there were an incredible number of unpaid invoices for the month, and decided that instead of closing 50% or more of the stores to just shut down the site, and planning WP3 as we speak! I really do hate it for sellers who have had some success there, but to those loyalists remember, everyone who speaks about Ray and WP with disgust has a good reason to do so. You are being spared a serious disappointment down the road when you find out he really doesn't give a darn about anything but your money. As for Ray, he'll get his someday. You can't operate a business and take $250K in a year from unsuspecting sellers without leaving a trail of complaints and deposits. But I forgot, that was the "accounting" and "legal" department handling those issues. Not to mention those wonderful alter-egos in "customer care" and all the hard work in the "engineering department" keeping the site fine tuned for maximum revenue. P.S. Almost 100 more visitors since I started typing 5 minutes ago! Thanks for attending the "RayThink traffic generation course!" Generate enough hatred, then close shop, and watch the traffic flock to you!

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Well, this means if the site has been down for several hours that Ray was actually listing on eBay while it was down. He had an auction start right before midnight my time, and a buddy from PSU told me that's after the time that WP went down.

Wagglepop Suffers Another All Night Outage
Quote:Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Too many connections in /www/waggle/public_html/community/db/mysql4.php on line 48 Same problem as the other 7 (?) all-night outages this year MySQL is down. If Ray used a monitoring service the downtime would have been limited to a few minutes. For the newbies: Ray wakes up around 7 am ET - a few minutes after that he will notice the site is down and restart MySQL. Wagglepop will be operational again by 8 am ET. |
