Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Every month I just sit back and chuckle about how few stores are left. Even the die hards are leaving (which I was one of them myself) and now, there are really about 100 sellers online. Reading the forums, about 1/2 of the regulars have more than one store. All the big cheerpoppers have more than one, a couple have 3. The really funny part is how many stores with less than 20 items have been open at least 6 months with no sales, or maybe one pity sale in 6 months. No one can tell me Ray isn't just letting them slide as his buddies.
BLING BLING Ultimate Ads (Sept 06) the chenille shack DREAMY DEALS OF DECOR (Sept 06) ArtArtifactsAntiquesBiblesandMore There are more, but I'm too tired to go on browsing. There is even a brand new seller who opened 2 fragrance stores, nearly the same name, with just a few items in each, with prices. If I paid $10 a month, I wouldn't keep 20 items or less for sale. I'd go for broke, list everything possible under the sun to use my $10 of bandwidth. I certainly wouldn't pay $20 a month to list 7 items in 2 different stores. P.S. My spam is slowing down now that I have been booted from WP since August. That email address was receiving 10+ a day, now down to just a few. The evidence I believe I have now is that the newest account I have on WP (to read the forums ) is gaining exposure to a hellacious amount of spam. It is a brand new AOL email address, not used for anything but registering on WP. Things that make you go hmmm.... Is the site hacked, or is Ray just selling his members out? His privacy policy means jack to me, so nothing surprises me. One more note, I got another notice about "collections" if I don't pay the balance for the account I requested to be closed while it had a zero balance. Ray, do you think I am so ignorant to your BS warnings? A collection agency can't affect me without a SSN. DUH! Happy selling wherever is your here and now!
"Listen up Mother****er. Try that bulls*** here and I will hand you and your head in a basket"
- Ray Romeo's alter ego Andrew Pittino responding when I signed up a new account on Wagglepop to verify the non-existence of a way to opt out of his sharing my information with third parties. |

Quote:No one can tell me Ray isn't just letting them slide as his buddies.I'm not sure about the other stores, but I believe Ultimate Ads is a ghost. I've seen that store come and go like a strobe light. Check the feedback. It's been forever since there was a sale of this grand and glorious traffic generating program this seller is touting. And the sellers who bought it are no longer with WP -- that says a lot about the effectiveness of the product, WP or both. I suspect many of the stores are ghosts, existing only to pump up the store count -- which could use all the help it can get right now. I further wouldn't be surprised to find a good chunk of the remaining die-hards doing some kind of mutual back-scratching/deal making with Ray. It makes no more sense to have a store with little to no items listed and still pay a fee every month, than it does to have a store stocked with 25% of the total site listings, and never make a sale. Go figure. Quote:Is the site hacked, or is Ray just selling his members out? His privacy policy means jack to me, so nothing surprises me. I think the evidence is on the side of the former explanation. First off, it's common knowledge that Ray spammed WP1 members to join him in his WP2 venture, even though he claimed to have destroyed the data base for WP1. This would be impossible without him retaining an email list. Second, the TOS says that WP has the right to "share" information on its members to "third party partners." Euphemistically, this means selling and/or exchanging email lists to entities outside of WP for the purposes of spamming. I still get spam I know was generated this way, since it is being sent to the email address I had prior to being booted. Third, quite coincidentally (tongue in cheek), the ridiculous revision of the registration procedure requiring PHONE and LOCATION VERIFICATION of members prior to signing up nicely coincided with the GRAND OPENING (re-re-opening, actually) of WP last March, when there was this big whoop over Karen proclaiming that traffic would triple and Poppers should "faster their seatbelts." Now, if I were a "third party partner", having email lists from persons whose phone numbers and locations were verified would be a pretty attractive commodity, especially if I were in the business of disseminating spam and/or spoof emails. Fourth, well, consider who owns the dopey site. I doubt there's much Ray wouldn't do if he thought he could squeeze a buck out of it somehow. Quote: I got another notice about "collections" if I don't pay the balance for the account I requested to be closed while it had a zero balance. Ray, do you think I am so ignorant to your BS warnings? A collection agency can't affect me without a SSN. DUH! Ray operates on the "one-in-the-sack" principle. I don't remember what movie that was from, but the premise goes like this: If you're a guy and you want to get layed, just stand on a street corner and ask every woman that walks by if she'd like to go to bed with you. Most will say "no," but eventually one will say "yes." Ray figures if he sends out a flury of meaningless threats every month to enough Poppers and XPoppers, some will pay (even if they don't owe) just to be rid of the boinktard for good. Now that we're heading into the holiday season, I wonder if the smathering of weary cheerleaders remaining will have the strength to muster pep talks on holiday sales and then come January blame the lack of traffic and sales on the economy and nasty miscreants, like they did last year. |

Or....I sell on 20 other websites to promote my WP store and I just haven't had time to list, list, list. Maybe a listing contest should be started!

Quote:listing contest translation: Doba (or is it dropshipfeed) adds a new floormat supplier and the cheerleaders copy and paste the new items to the WP bulklister spreadsheet EDIT: to be fair to WP : there are several alternative auction sites that bolster their listing counts by listing thousands of Doba items...the giveaway is always that to save time they list the items at MSRP (and the "seller" who lists them never has any buyers because nobody in their right mind would pay MSRP).
