Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
So exactly how does this dropshipping work? Does Ray contract with different merchandisers to sell their products on his site getting a piece of the sale? Can he "share" the names, addresses, phone #s and emails of past and present Poopers he's collected in his data bank over the years?
Oh, and unless I hear a protest, according to my figures, Truth was the closest in forecasting the monthly "participation dues" increase. His $449/yr. comes to $37.42 a month, or $7.43 away from the actual target. So Truth, you're welcome to pick anything in either of my stores at a $20 discount. And for anyone else who participated, I'll offer you a $10 discount. www.designersbargains.com www.designers-bargains.ecrater.com Oh, and happy :cinqo1: :cinqo1: :cinqo1: |

How about we let it ride on the bet for how many stores active for June 1st. I don't know what we will do if I win again but my guess is 73 June first and 44 July first. :cinqo1: :cinqo1: Let the Truth be Told |

Quote:At least Ray didn't mention batteries. Scott really did have batteries (in the UPS he had hooked up to the Server). That was about the only true thing he said in those posts. At the end he was running Ethical's server from a DSL line in his basement and was using a UPS as a backup power supply (the battery on the average UPS provides under 1 hour of run time) |

Quote:But please understand that recent changes may leave some of us old-timers and long-time supporters in a less than 30 day crunch... we aren't all bitter or angry, just very, very sad and disappointed and scared about the amount of work ahead of us. Did the InventoryDirect bulklister have the ability to backup listings? If it did it may have been taken out of service in order to discourage sellers with a large number of listings from leaving. If that seller doesn't have a backup of her listings there is no way she'll be able to manually copy almost 5000 listings before the new fees kick in. edited to add: boinktard Ray deleted her post already.
Someone needs to tap the WagglePop sellers on the shoulder and point them to the FireFox extension: ScrapBook https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/427 It works like Save Page As / Web Page Complete with one important advantage: batch processing. With this extension you can flip multiple pages up on tabs in the FF browser and save each group. You're only limited by the number of tabs your system can handle - most should be able to easily manage 20 @ a time depending on page weight. Not an ideal solution but beats the snot out of loosing all your work or being held captive by that Pink Slippered Twit. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
OMG!!! This is the funniest thing I have ever read.
Taken from: http://www.appscout.com/2008/03/wagglepo...y_work.php """what all this is with the WP haters is jealous people..... that is why they spend so much time ON a negative going everywhere spending their TIME being negative on WP.. Its all about jealousy..... when WP started some people with ego's got shattered when the owner did NOT FEED their egos.. instead the owner was wise and was able to see their problem and told them off in a sense.... and ever since they have wasted all their time on being negative on something they would not list on.. which just proves total whacko jealousy.. and this jealousy got so bad some of those went and tried to harm trying anything and everything in private and public until the owner wised up and closed .. and then opened back up in a more private manner to keep these whackos from causing so much harm and wasting time.. some of this is from competitors who are really scared at the potential of WP... what is this potential... yes EXACTLY the most ebay like site going... and what does this DO?? it gives the BEST HELP in trying to lure ebay buyers to the site to buy..... so its all jealousy .. anyone with any logic can see how this being the most ebay similar but without the high prices IS BEST to USE to lure ebay buyers.... """ I might be late in seeing this APPSCOUT thread but WOW. You have got to be kidding me. Am I wrong to assume that "Shelly" is the new "Karen" alter ego? Perhaps "Shelly' is the new talking Hamster. Oh you poor little Wagglepop fools. It you even consider sending in your payment of $29.95, I have a really nice bridge right around the corner from me for sale. They are calling it the "Brooklyn Bridge" but I am sure for the right price you could name it whatever you want. Perhaps you could resell it on the POP. Yeah, fill another empty category |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:Well I agree with what a lot of other sellers had to say! For those that do NOT sell a whole lot EVERY month, it does feel like a major pinch. I am also disabled and this store is only here to add on to my disability income, which there is a posibility that will end entirely and I am still unable to work at all. The increase of 200 percent would be great IF sellers such as myself were selling EVERY month. I have been here for over a year and not including last summer where I only had a few sales, Xmas was my best anticipated time where I sold almot 200 dollars in sales, but then nothing in Jan, one sale in Feb, nothing in March, and 4 sales in April. I sometimes go for months without a single sale and when I do have what I consider to be a great month, the FVF's still do not add up to be that much, so the 9.95 was a great deal. I also expected the fee hike to maybe go up to 19.95, but not much more than that. No final value fees are a great idea but when not selling much and you are only selling a handful of items in several months, it just doesn't make financial sense IF the buyer market stays the same. Now I'm not saying I'm not willing to try, I can list more, and get more done, and hopefully there will be a MONTHLY sales to compare with the increase. |

Quote:. . . we are exploring the idea of expanding Wagglepop into a "family" of related but independent ecommerce shopping sites that could mean more opportunity for sellers to expand their customer bases and sales. The changes we make today to ensure the viability of Wagglepop moving forward may allow us through revenues to support development of additional smaller "specialty" sites with highly targeted focuses. That's a GENIUS idea, Ray -- little "mini-malls", as it were. Mr. Floormat
I think we all know that was directed at TT. If there is one group or person (Sherrand) who would notice someone's listings drop and may assume that seller was leaving and post about it (knowing Ray is reading) it would be right here on TT. WagglePop: Like the site not the site owner. |
