Actually, it was MySpace, not Craig's List that SB was participating in.  Get your stories straight.  Oh, I forgot, you all post items as facts when they are actually NOT.

Smileywelcome  doxielady

I would just like to offer a suggestion not aimed at you specifically but to any new or lurking WP folks. If you are looking for the truth or factual statements, they will never be found as long as you are focusing on "catching someone".

Doxie your statement seems to me that you had already:
A. Made up your mind prior to posting that this entire thread and its posting members were telling stories.
B. You are looking for some sort of proof "defined by you" that we are all wrong.

This also sets into motion the us vs. them thinking. We are all unique individuals with our own opinions. We do share experiences with WP and we express those opinions here. The degree to which we harbor animosity towards WP (the site, not the sellers) is also not exactly the same from person to person.

Remember it is good to pay attention to the details but equally important to see "the big picture". Apply this concept to the thread instead of over analyzing each and every post.  Mrgreen

What attitude?  I'm only trying to make sure that the truth gets out there the same as many of you.  That's the bad thing about message boards....it is so easy to twist and misinterpret the posts.

I know that Craig's List has been discussed lots on WP.  I have participated in those discussions and have posted on Craig's List.  There is a category for Small Biz ads that allows links to be included.

While there have been some valid points raised, I think that for many of us poppers, it is hard to read through all the hateful comments.  It is kind of like someone talking about your family.  You can talk about them and know they aren't saints, but let someone else say something bad, and people get defensive.

I would like to see honest facts stated, without mud slinging, about all of the selling options that are out there.  It's always good to be diversified and not keep all of one's eggs in one basket.

Good luck to you all.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
MY SINCERE APOLOGIES -- IT WAS MY SPACE! That SB was spamming for the purposes of becoming best Artist/Photographer, and where he was disqualified at the last minute for improprieties. I hadn't quite recovered from my big night out last night (it was our anniversary), and just got up from a 3-hour nap. Now, I'm thinking a little more clearly.

Anyway, THIS DOESN'T EXPLAIN HOW I GOT SPAMMED! Nobody had THAT particular email address but WP and Craig's List. I clicked on the link thinking it would take me to a page where I could view his photographs. Instead, I discovered that my click sent a vote -- I never saw a single photo.

Maybe Doxie is can enlighten us on this mystery.

I have no idea how or why you received an email requesting you to vote.  I never received an email request and don't personally know SB so I cannot answer.

Hope you had a happy anniversary.

Your statement: Oh, I forgot, you all post items as facts when they are actually NOT.  Brings attitude and starts a conversation off with a bit of a bite.

Same here....we are family too, just the black sheep that have been excommunicated from our previous family.  Oh, and when I was still part of WP I wasn't included in discussions and was pretty much ignored when I tried to join in conversations.  When I asked some questions about wp my "fellow poppers" ripped me up for asking.  So if you feel bad about comments here, how do you think I felt about the comments there?

Wow, we have something in common!! I wanted to see honest facts given on the WP boards by Karen.  There are lots of other selling options and we have posted them again and again.  If you would like I will go find the previous posts.

Good luck to you and I wish you well.
Good bye all

Quote:what other auction sites do you suggest?

The question can't be answered without knowing what you sell, how much you sell, and what country you're based in. Smile

The only US/Canada/UK off ebay auction sites where sellers can regularly sell in the $1000s monthly:

Specialized:
Media items: Amazon Marketplace (not auctions) is better than eBay for media
Domain name sales: Afternic and Sedo are both much better than eBay.

General (new items)
uBid: Very good if you qualify as a seller
Overstock: OK sales if you're BuySafe bonded and sell new items.  Low sales if you're not BuySafe bonded or if you sell used items, collectibles, etc.

Yahoo (general), Etsy (handmade), are the next step down in sales from the above but are better than the 100s of auction sites running cheap rscript or phpprobid software.

The average seller on most smaller off eBay auction sites is lucky to get 10 sales per year.  Seller to seller sales and few outside buyers are the norm on most small sites and have been for years (as have a string of site owners like Ray claiming to be the next eBay challenger and making promises they can't deliver).

On the bright side, if you live in New Zealand (TradeMe.co.nz) or China, Poland, Switzerland, and a dozen other Asian and European countries where QXL-owned or Yahoo-owned auction sites are the market leaders you do have viable alternatives to eBay.

[/quote]

Here is one of the posts that was made regarding other site alternatives and if you explore TT you will find discussion on other sites as well.  Over on the PSU boards there are many ecommerce discussion boards.  I don't know if you have looked at the daily counts on PSU and auction site rankings, if you haven't I would suggest taking a look. http://www.powersellersunite.com/auctionsitewatch.php
