Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Yes, I had a very happy anniversary. Thank you.

My point with SB has to do with the whole spamming issue and security (or lack of) with WP. SOMEONE SENT ME A SPAM EMAIL SIGNED BY SB and that's a fact. I never had any personal communication with SB, so he did not get that particular email address that way. I have a feeling there was a little bit of Rayness involved, by either propagating SB's letter or giving SB the addresses so he could do it. After all, did Ray not SWEAR THAT ALL DATA from WP1 was destroyed at the last debaucle, and HUNDREDS of former WP1 members got SPAM INVITATIONS to join WP2. Where did those addresses come from? A sermon on the Mount?

Others here have stated that since leaving WP they have been spammed to death, as have I. The email used in this spamming is the same as was used in SB's spam letter (which only WP and Craig's List had), so it leads me to believe that Ray is probably selling our info and making money on it. Incidentally, I had been a member of Craig's List years before joining WP, and never received spam originating from it, so don't think SB got it from there.

I would like to wish you a warm  Smileywelcome
As an ex-popper who left by choice, I am glad you are open enough to this thread to join in.
I still have friends who sell on WP and could care only about sales and not the background of the site.
The sellers that are getting sales I wish them the best. The ones that are not I hope branch out to other venues...
Internet selling is not easy, it is a job. I learned a long time ago the only one to cheer for is my self and my business. No venue except my own website will live up to my expectations.
I don't need a boss to tell me how to run my business I need a partner.
It's the "follow ME, cuz I'm the ONE" attitude that caused me leave. Sometime ago there was a thread where it was indicated the "staff" would be announced. There were names put on the screen, but no bios or pics. At least on E you get a few pics with the faces.
The "do not post a direct thought with out a please and thank you" was against my idea of free speech.

While there have been some valid points raised, I think that for many of us poppers, it is hard to read through all the hateful comments.  It is kind of like someone talking about your family.  You can talk about them and know they aren't saints, but let someone else say something bad, and people get defensive.

I would like to see honest facts stated, without mud slinging, about all of the selling options that are out there.  It's always good to be diversified and not keep all of one's eggs in one basket.

Good luck to you all.
[/quote]

Doxie this is just my opinion, in regards to talking about someone's family. To me WP is not a family, it is "just a venue".
It is a business, that offers a product to its customers (sellers). The sellers on WP are the "community". That to me would be the "family" or group.

Doxie if I were to be critical of you as a person or attacked your business in a hostile manner I could understand both you being upset and also could see why you would choose to defend yourself.

As Sweet said we the posters on this thread are also a group of sorts. We are not the venue ie Tulip Tools, but we communicate on their public forum.

When people have been disillusioned and get upset/angry their posts will indeed be a reflection of that emotion.
If you feel personally attacked then by all means address that.

You don't need to defend your decision to sell on WP. The posters here have the right to state the reasons they won't or no longer sell on WP, and to be critical of the site. This is not a pro WP thread.

The thread also contains a variety of opinions, facts, and speculation. There are also many unanswered questions that are discussed here as well.

As far as other selling options please take the time and explore the rest of the site, there are many many interesting topics that do cover different venues.

Ask questions anytime.  Thumbsup

This is part of what makes WP look like a CULT. Cults foster the attitude that other members are your brothers and sisters and the leaders are the mommy/daddy authority figures.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Sweet Girl:
Quote:Now I have a couple of questions for WP, which I cannot ask as I am forever banned from WP and the boards.

1.  The home page featured categories have only been books and jewelry and they haven't changed it in a couple of months, has anyone asked about it?
2.  At what point does the homepage become buyer friendly and not target sellers?  I asked that one (along with many others) back in July and it changed a little in Aug or Sept but it still screams "We need sellers"
3.  Why doesn't WP have a page devoted to the owner, employees, location and the history of WP?
4.  Why doesn't Karen/Ray use the PM'ing system to contact members?  Why can't you contact CC through that system?  Many complaints on the boards over the last few months about not being able to email CC.
5.  WP is a small company (possibly only one person) and having worked for many small companies over my long life, the owner makes their presence known and addresses staff and even becomes involved with clients (customers).  Why hasn't the owner of the company addressed sellers and put them at ease over issues involving WP?

And for sellers:
1.  WP brought Adsmart into the mix before Christmas after Karay started a post asking for your opinions about what WP needed to help sellers complete transactions etc.  Don't you find it odd that an internal advertising package took precedence over improved invoicing?
2.  Have you read the media page on WP?  If not go read it, if you can find it.  Isn't it odd that reporters, news organizations have to write to WP, cannot email for business information?
3.  My last question....
If WP was started and is owned by an ex-ebay seller then why are the most important features to a seller missing from the site?
Automated invoicing, completed listings, bulk lister that works, etc.

Now that we have a Popper on the line, maybe she would like to address some more unanswered questions, such as those above.

Smileywelcome doxie

While we make errors from time to time, we do appreciate your participation.  We hold no ill feelings for those who have chosen Wagglepop as their venue of choice.  We wish the WP sellers well and hope all works out for them.

What we do have ill feelings about is our own, personal experiences there.  We do tend to get frustrated and emotional, but when one of us makes a mistake, the others here usually correct it with courtesy and understanding.

Please don't get defensive.  We are not attacking you or any other seller.  We are relating experiences and frustration and anger (many times at ourselves).

Wishing you well.

THANKS FOR THE CONGRATS, guys!

It was our 16th. I robbed the cradle -- he's 11 years younger -- And being European, every day living with him is like taking an excursion abroad. Right now he's buried himself in our home theater system to watch one in a serious of Danish spoof spy movies full of gratuitous nudity and more (use your imagination).
