This just in.... on the WP boards. Like everyone else, I too, am very excited about Wagglepop's Grand Opening and increased exposure!! However, I'd like to remind everyone to not get their hopes unrealistically high, as this can cause unnecessary disappointment. Those of you that have gotten to know me here, know that overall I am a very positive person. But I am also a realistic person, and know that Wagglepop is not going to suddenly have the same traffic as eBay overnight with their Grand Opening. I know that Wagglepop and most of you know the same. But with the excitement (and yes, there is much reason for excitement!), we can sometimes get carried away with our expectations, or others (new people) can get misled with our excitement. Just don't want to see everyone getting too high of hopes, and suddenly close up shop when reality doesn't meet those hopes. Bubbles can be great if kept to a proper size.....but bubbles that get too large burst. So let's be really excited with a touch of reality mixed in for balance. =) [/quote] This is the story of WP: All hype, no substance. As it was in the beginning. As it is, and ever shall be. Hype without end, Amen. |

Sellers listed like crazy and were excited about the anticipated Christmas rush. Sellers listed like crazy and were excited about the anticipated AFTER Christmas rush. Both events came and went with WP barely causing a blip on the auction market screen. IMHO the die-hards that are still there are already condition towards disappointment and will surely find an excuse to blame the next heart-breaker on everyone and everything except Ray. Sneaky, I share your excitement er, sarcasm. This unfolding of events could be painful to witness.

A post about the Grand Opening:
Quote:It is exciting to take this next step to what we will be in the future. Everything is taken in baby steps - and so it should be. If you take baby steps we allow ourselves the time to learn and to grow....if we try to go by leaps and bounds, it is too easy to get all hyped up and then take a fall. And one made in very Poor Taste!

Quote:Just look how we felt when we had around 900 stores and then suddenly dropped like a rock. We were all devistated until we came to the realization that this is exactly what should have happened....to shore up our community and to have the right core required to keep this site moving forward.
