Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
KaRay gets everyone's juice going with all the hype about advertising coming with the Grand Opening. This poor popper asked very politely for a hint of the advertising planned. In CC1's second post the tidbit of "limited" TV advertising was mentioned. So why couldn't KaRay say that in the first place instead of shoving the blessed Information Policy down their throat! What a crock!!!! What an insult!!!!
Hey, all you lurkers hanging around today - can you understand my take on this? Can you see it? KaRay's obsession for control over each and every seller? Each and every aspect of Wagglepoop? :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

Quote:wagglepopCC1 01 Mar 2007 18:31 What? Now there talking about what's next when everyone is wondering what they are doing today besides the new banner on the home page and the invite a friend link. Quote:xxxxxxxxx 01 Mar 2007 18:31 Quote:xxxxxxxxx, This is too much. Why wouldn't they be able to say what marketing is in place now that it's already supposed to be out there and bringing more traffic to the site starting today. This just does not make sense. That first post and then Karen's response to this question on the marketing that was to begin today just confirms for me what I thought. There will be some very disappointed sellers there soon. I think some of them were getting their hopes up too high and are in for a big let down. |

Sneaky,
Thanks for posting the research above. But those stats won't come as a surprise to anyone here. We are well into day one of the launch. Other than what I've reported, has anyone found other changes that I missed? Like, is this it? If so, I must agree with you scoop - the outbreak of disappointment will be of epidemic proportions. Oh Mr. Romeo, you've done it again.

Quote:s part of our published Information Policy we cannot and will not ever discuss publicly our marketing plans and strategies in detail. Translation: We'll never tell you about the "marketing plans" because basically THERE ARE NONE. We're selling the extensive lists we have of seller information (both current and past), which now includes verifyable phone numbers, to our expanded list of "partners" so they can spam you with their crap, and because of our Non-Disclosure Agreements we can't tell you who the "partners" are. Please see our TOS to which you agreed, which clearly state we have every right to, and will do this. |

Its now 3:40pm here in New York. Been waiting since 8:30am.
Uh, where are the stampedes? Where are all these excited, new sellers that were promised? Last check the store count has stayed exactly the same. Might wanna tweak those banners. (Personally I find them to be a real distraction to the site, they stand out alright, but not in the way I think it was intended.)

Poppers you've just SEEN the marketing plan - a bunch of eye-hurting banners. There is no other plan. Back in September or so, Karen was always defending the lack of marketing due to insufficient capital. So where exactly did this advertising money magically materialize from? NOWHERE. In fact, WP income has DROPPED by 2/3 in the past few months. WAKE UP POPPERS! You're on a sinking ship.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
This one ought to stay on the WP boards for a nano-second...
So am I to understand that WP can't even disclose the marketing that went into affect today? I'm not concerned with a marketing plan for September, but would like to know what else went on today, except for the 2 banners. BTW, "there are times where transparency can be directly counterproductive to the action to which it relates" makes no sense. Maybe "there are times where DISCLOSURE can be directly counterproductive to the action to which it relates" would make more sense. Being invisible can't really be counterproductive. Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I just can't stand it anymore! I unfortunately still have a store opened at Wagglepop. I have been trying to move my items out as quickly as possible but life keeps getting in the way and it has been a tedious process. I have been there since September and actually did sell enough to pay my monthly fee and make a tiny profit. As I have read here and can attest too the majority of my sales were to other sellers. A few of my buyers from ebay came over, bought once and never returned. Obviously something was not appealing to them because they have come back to my ebay store even though my prices are a little higher there. The other three outside of WP buyers I had bought and never paid. One actually outbid another buyer to win the item. Go Figure???
I have been reading this thread for quite awhile, and have taken everthing said here to heart. I am not a drinking cult member, I am a business woman who gave something a try and obviously it is just not panning out. My reason for posting today is because I just needed to vent. I feel so sorry for those sellers at WP that just don't get it. Holy Sheet some were so excited by this whole Grand Opening nonsense that they did not sleep last night! What the heck did they think was going to happen? Two added features, on two pages that suggest you invite your family and friends? Are you kidding me? Is that WP's idea of advertising? Oh, of course it is.........let the sellers do all the work once again. It is enough to make me sick. If I had not put so much time and hard work into my listings I would close my store right now. I can't leave this way because it is much less time consuming to just copy and paste my listings and place them in my other venues. I will be working my butt of this weekend to get things finished and then I will be saying my goodbyes. I have not posted on the WP boards for quite some time because honestly I find the majority of what is posted there just to embarrassing to be a part of. I wish I could meet some of these people and pull a "Moonstruck Move" on them, you know slap them in the face and say "SNAP OUT OF IT!". It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few days when things remain the same at the PoP Stand. Hopefully some loyal followers will start to get angry and stand up for themselves. Stick a fork in me! I am done! Well I thank you for letting my get this out of my system... Now I am going to go and throw up! |
