I'm with cmminis on this one - WOW! All those ghost stores! Now if the time invested into those would be spent actually building a viable business site! I was thinking maybe 10-20 of 'em, but wow! First reaction - shock Second reaction - anger (that I stayed as long as I did!) Third reaction - sad (that anyone could be so heartless to use another being in a get rich scheme - cuz lets face it, the man is bringing in good bucks each month!)
Pardon my lack of manners moon majic. You started at WP about the time I left but your name is familiar to me from other sites. Glad to have you join us. Truth, the list I'm compiling doesn't include the 'maybe' or 'conned' stores. I've just been tracking the bonafide, 100% dishonest ghost stores that get switched off and on regularly. I'm also still not finished researching and putting a completed list together. 25 ghost stores have been officially retired by KaRay since the first of the year. They had all been used so I'm guessing became throw-aways. So far I have uncovered 34 more that are dormant but ready to be used if/when the poppers get nervous about the falling store count. I can post links to these in increments or all at once when I've finished my research. I'll let you all decide. There are many, around 40 that are currently included in the active store count. Most of these I'm pretty sure are not legit but a few I'm reserving judgment on. So my for sure list is half of yours but you could be right about the overall numbers.

You can fool some of the Poppers some of the time. But, you can't fool all of the Poppers all of the time.
Store Count = 312 |
YOHB, Just to clarify what I mean by a "Conned Store" and to help everyone to understand my definition better here goes. This is a hard one to explain please consider that this is my judgement and opinion. There is a group of sellers at WP who have taken it upon themselves to open 2nd, 3rd and sometimes even a 4th store. Most of those sellers have found some success with there original store but only a little taste of it. Take store #1 for example. They have more then 1 store but if you watch there listing count it went up to be the #1 store fast but now has pretty much stabalized. There sales from the large store don't = more then 100 sales in a month and most of the items are under $5.00 so there is no real profit in that store. What compels a seller to open more then one store with the same or similar items on a venue that is failing? The answer to that is easy but very sad. It is hard to admit failure even for the sellers. Nobody wants to fail ever and I don't want anyone to fail either. Some of the sellers are so drunk on the they will do anything to prevent themselves from failing. They truely believe the store count has great meaning as it has been stated in the WP benchmarks. Call it blind faith if you want but I prefer to say those sellers have been conned into believing that WP is something worth while, therefore they will stop at nothing to help Ka/Ray with his grand deception. I include those stores in with the ghost stores because most of those stores just sit there and do nothing but pad the numbers and Ray's pockets!!! let the truth be told u1it4less - "it's all in the name.." |

Truth,
I don't disagree with your thinking whatsoever! These multiple stores are indeed padding the numbers with usually only one showing any activity. But they are still legitimate stores. I was addressing the numbers for the stores that Ray is controlling, with or without the original sellers knowledge.

Here's a ghost store that KaRay just turned on. I'm surprised it is being used so soon. It was only emptied three weeks ago.
YOHB, I know, I just thought it was time enough to bring these stores into the equation to prove just how small the seller base is at WP today. We really are not talking about that many actual people who sell at WP anymore. Ray know's that and why spend the money to advertise when he can milk those 100 or so people for a few more months and then move on to another scam. Those conned stores I talked about do exactly the same thing as the ghost stores with one catch. Ray turns a profit from them. let the truth be told u1it4less - "it's all in the name.." |
