I am no computer expert but where is this beta testing lingo coming from? The ability to sell internationally is available on the rscript software, as is a language tool, and money conversion. What are you testing, to see if Ray turned on all the right features?

I have several friends who are telling me their sales are booming right now.

This is typically our best time of year.  Ours is a "buy it for yourself" type item and we'll really hit good sales once people start getting their income tax refunds back. 

I know part of our success is due to what we sell...it's a niche type market.  The new fee increase will hit us both coming and going because we start most of our stuff at $9.95 and it ends usually over $25.00.  Luckily, it won't hit us hard.

They may be doing what several other poppers seem to be doing.  If you send them a "Question for Seller" they email you directly telling you they have more stuff at their Wagglepop store.  They also say "wait for us to send you an invoice" and then they try to direct the buyer to their Wagglepop store to buy items cheaper.  I've run across some really blatant WP advertising on eBay the past few days.

I find it disturbing that there are people who are on WP that feel they have to go undercover just to remove their listings and close up shop.  :blinkie:

I cannot think of any site where any seller has ever reported feeling like they have to undergo a covert operation just to leave. I can understand their hesitancy to post on the forum, but I have read too many stories from people who felt embarrassed, or confused from their close encounter with this site.

Not only do people appear to be hiding out from Ray, they also are very leery of the fanatic behavior exhibited by some sellers.

All I know is when I closed up shop on Ebay I didn't do it undercover, late at night, or have any reason to hide it.

When sellers close their eBay store, they usually announce it on the boards and receive cheers for moving on.
On WP, they're treated like defectors.

I think you may have miss understood what I meant. The #1 store on WP seems as if they are moving to a new venue as well as back to core on ebay. They have never made a sale on WP.

Sure:

Beta buyer only accounts must still pledge to pay there seller/store fees to remain in good standing. Any buyer only accounts that aren't in good standing will be terminated.

Again not an expert, but beta testing/beta accounts would be the case if Ray was operating a custom built site and was modifying his software by upgrading it to allow for international buyers. Ray however doesn't have a custom built site and is using rscript, which included the international feature. He isn't modifying the design, he is simply activating the features.

The rscript program would have been beta tested prior to release by their programmers.

I already understand that "beta" is translated as "flipping a switch." But once the switch is flipped isn't the feature already fully integrated? Or is that just more "making it sound like we're doing something for your money" BS? And how can a buyer account not be in good standing? WTF! What's the difference between a buyer who is a partial member and a buyer with full membership? I don't get it at all.
