Is Ray now requiring phone verification for buyers and sellers? It was mentioned on PSU. :blinkie:
Yes and it has to be a landline or a cellphone. :blinkie:

If the reason is to avoid scammers, he needs a better plan, WP is way too new and too small to start expecting buyers to jump through hoops. This will totally impact the sellers who are trying to get their ebay customers to purchase on the pop. Ebay doesn't even require this. If I were a seller on WP I would be pissed. The sellers better take a long hard look at this because it will impact their business directly. You find an item from say froogle, you like it and go to buy it BUT WAIT, you have to be phone verified? Can you say hit the back button and jam on out of the site. Think people "think like a buyer", even if you really wanted the item would you want a phone call from a stranger and then pony up personal info. on top of that. Buyers have stated repeatedly that one of their top priorities is protecting their private information, for fear of identity theft among others. This is a bad and I mean bad idea. |

Maybe that's why the store count has dropped to 411 today and nobody can find out if the mini mall is still operating (the one that Bric set up). Also gone is the breakfast thread that zmorick started every morning.
Sellers are going poof and disappearing without a word from the boards and/or from poopland.
I hate stupid people!

Took almost 30 minutes for the email to show up. So much for grabbing those impulse buyers. :
Maybe that's why the store count has dropped to 411 today and nobody can find out if the mini mall is still operating (the one that Bric set up). Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
BTW - Quick update on my ended auction (for keyword spamming):
Received a very nice apologetic email from eBay last night stating they were in error and the listing should not have been removed. They erased the violation from my record and reinstated the auction. After the email I sent them :twistedevil:, I fully expected to receive a "You have been NARU'd" response back.

River, frame that email, cause it's gonna snow, or someplace is going to freeze over. OK another point regarding phone verification, I am not going to give my phone info. to a site to be verified if that site doesn't have a toll free number visibly posted in their contact info. so I can contact them too. Show me yours first bucko. Ray you need a trip to an oxygen cafe so your brain can start working. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Store Count: 411
Listing Number: 149,694 The store count keeps dropping. Listings are down. And now to be a member of Pop Land, you have to have phone number verification?? Sounds like Ray is doing everything he can to make Pop Land the last place new sellers (and especially buyers) want to be. WP is not buyer friendly. That is one reason I only bought one item when I was a member there. The seller I bought from was great, no complaints at all there. It was just hard to navigate the site from the buyers side of it. If I decided to become a member of a site to buy something I saw and liked, went to register and during registration noticed that I had to give my phone number and wait for someone from the site to call me, I would hit the back button, leave the site, and never go back. That is just an asinine way to conduct member verification for a buyer.
