Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Regic,
I can see where it would be necessary for webhosting. Godaddy requires it, but they also schedule a time and call you, they also offer their assistance with the services you subscribed to. What I am wondering is if any auction venue's besides WP require it. Ebay doesn't and I can't think of any other small sites that do. There are some that are starting seller verification, but that is a seperate issue. Thanks for the response. Truth I agree with you on several points that you have made. This thread has always been about the site, and was never intended to attack individual sellers. I too wish them all well with their business endeavors, and believe in my heart that we are all trying to do what is best for our own ecommerce ventures, in an attempt to establish independence and no longer rely on ebay. |

Quote:Retail site: No, never. One of the biggest debates (and one of the deciding factors for many people when they choose a cart for their sites) in the shopping cart forums on TT has always been whether buyers should be required to create accounts and whether requiring accounts hurts sales (most surveys say buyers don't want to register): ZenCart requires it, CRE Loaded doesn't. WP, like all venues, already has the 'must create an account' factor working against them--the phone verification will kill them. I'm in favor of credit card verification of auction site buyers (like Overstock) but not phone verification. |

DRM started a new thread on PSU just like clockwork called Troublemaker police helps all sellers.
Sounds like something out of George Orwell's 1984 (more like a parody of the thought police) This guy cracks me up. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Truth -- We both know your "calling out" is rhetorical. Right?
About the phone registration: Quote:We pay to have the system automatically dial the applicant at their submitted telephone number during registration and via phone issue a three or four digit verification code that must be entered before we will accept the application. Apparently, phone verification occurs after verification of physical location. How do they do that on OVERSEAS ACCOUNTS? Nobody knows. Once physical location is verified, registrant is phone verified. This is not just for new buyers/sellers, but also for existing members wanting to open a new "buying" account or another store, for example. Members are complaining already that after the phone verification, the codes they receive don't work. Quote:Re: Registering for a second store. and Quote:Check to make sure there is no space at the beginning of the code. I just did the same thing. Way to go, Ray! 1) Back in July sellers were already complaining they couldn't get their buyers to join because WP logged IP addresses and buyers had to pledge to pay WP the monthly invoice through PayPal, even though they were buyers not sellers 2) Now, in January, buyers/sellers are ALSO going to have to wait to be location and phone verified before they can register. If EXISTING members can't work the code system, how do you expect new registrants to do it without just blowing off registering all together? Not being members yet, they can't even contact CC, as existing members can, to find out why the codes don't work and what to do about it. What next? Is a guy in a bunny suit going to come to their doors to see if someone matching the description on the registration form opens the door? How Ray is going to attract overseas buyers with this assinine system is beyond me. Not to mention that all know how TRUSTED he is with personal information. Even the TOS clearly states, Quote:we share your personal information with carefully selected companies with whom we have relationships and trust.. In other words, Ray makes money simply by sharing selling members' personal information with third parties. Whether the member buys or not, he still makes money. And now that members are PHONE and LOCATION VERIFIED, he can probably get top dollar from those third parties. And should a member close an account? Ray has that personal information to do with whatever he wants for as long as he wants. AND YOUR MONTHLY FEE IS PAYING FOR THIS, POPPERS! Doesn't that make you feel proud? Edit: Bolding mine. |

Can someone please tell me what a TRUST BASED Community is??? :blinkie: I am not getting it, HELP ME!!!! I [/quote] Apparently, about 60% of WP's sellers didn't "get it" either, not counting a good bunch of the residual sellers who also don't "get it", but are "trusting" that some day they'll "get it." |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Alskling,
Quote:Truth -- We both know your "calling out" is rhetorical. Right? Yes it is. By Ray hiding behind Karens skirt he proves he his a coward. He has never and probably never will face the truth about questions asked to him about his site. I never expect him to challenge me or answer me or any of us. Remember there is only one thing he is concerned with and that is himself. Only a real business person would defend himself rather then hide thinking we will go away. As I told you Alsking if he doesn't respond I will double my efforts to help the sellers avoid the effect of having the carpet pulled out from underneath them when Ray pulls the plug. WPSSU is already working towards that if you look at the site. Tazbar passed WP today on the PSU site count page. Most other sites are moving in the right direction while Ray continues his downward slide. By the way for anyone reading this post all numbers Ray posts to WP are falsely inflated and shouldn't be believed. Do you own math. The PSU number isn't correct either. let the truth be told u1it4less - "it's all in the name.." X-POP NATION, A real seller's network |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I thought it was time for a little comic relief. Sometimes I wonder if Saturn/WeirdPatrick/DRM/Ozarkman is composing some of the spoof emails I receive daily, or perhaps that's where he learned English.
Thought I'd share my two favorites from yesterday: Quote:I have not receive your item yet!! and Quote:"Sir, i already payed for you item, but i don't recive nothing, Why, where i wrong. Or you don't remind to send it to me? Please tell me what is the problem, i don't want to report you. Please reply me urgently |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
OK... so like... tell me you haven't missed me on the boards!! LOL First and foremost... SWEET.. so glad to see you back and well and posting! I missed ya girl!
I have been soooo busy setting up my eCrater and Blujay stores that I totally haven't had time to read here! This morning, I spent just about 2 hours on and off catching up 10 pages!! Don't you people work!!?? As far as an update on those 2 new venues, I've had 2 sales on eCrater and nothing on BJ... yet. I mentioned about 15 pages ago(?? LOL) that I really wanted to open my own site. So..... I was inspired by the feedback I received from all of you when you went to look at my stores AND also by the generosity of you all for linking my stores into your personal websites. Thentavius told me I was on the right track with my expansion... AND... I wanted more. I have a hobby that I love and wanted to be futher involved with and also supply items to others with the same passion. So..... I opened my own site this week. I won't bore you with the details but so far, I'm pretty happy with the set up, price and seller friendliness. Lots of tools to make the store able to offer discount codes, pre-made templates, merchant accounts, etc. For a person like me, (html intolerant), it is a dream come true! When I signed up with the host, I got a lot of coupons for marketing and signed up with my $50 credit towards Google Adwords last night. I get $60 towards Yahoo, etc. That set up was confusing but it was totally fun once I got the hang of it! I have 4 ads running now. I get a discount on my site if anyone signs up as a referral from me so if your interested, please let me know. NO OBLIGATIONS... just mentioning it because I know FineThings and, I think, Overhead were looking for hosts. I've only been open for a couple of days so my copy still needs to be fine tuned but I would LOVE for you guys to check it out and of couse... let me know what you like, dislike, etc. I will be setting up a Recommended Sites link and am happy to do a reciprocal link for all of you who were generous enough to add me to your sites (can you please add my new one too??)... please PM me with your site URL and a brief description and I'll get them on as soon as I can. When they're complete, I'll post a link. Ok.... here's the site... www.scrapbookmemoriesdirect.com Please let me know what you think!!!!! Thanks guys!!!! |
