retract the claws!!!!!! lol and actually that "baby" wasn't supposed to be derogatory. I always call my children and my husband baby but it's only endearing, never flaming. It's a sign of love!!!!!!
I don't have claws...just a big mouth! My apology (coming on strong) is due to the fact I sounded so bloody serious. I didn't mean to come across that way and a reread of my own post frightened even me! Kind of took away from the devil smilie at the end. Quote:NO KIDDING!!! Geez... YOHB... remind me never to get on your bad side!!! I have a bad side? MAKE IT GO AWAY Both of you, Randa and Platz, your sites look great. You have me itching to plan my own website now.
The one thing you can never afford to lose is your temper.

Seems Ray has come out of hiding to spam his own site: http://www.ecommerce-guide.com/news/news...hp/3655816
The end is near. They wrote a kool-aid infested Waggle article last year 1 week before the site opened. Waggle closed 2 weeks later. http://www.ecommerce-guide.com//article.php/3466631 |
Has anybody sold on abebooks? I have their uploader downloaded and it seems to be pretty good. I have not uploaded it yet so I am not sure how it will work.
Amazon,Abebooks, and Alibris are all good for books. Half, Biblio, Valore are so so but probably better than WP. If you're going to list books on multiple venues what I would suggest is signing up for a listing service like Art of Books (about $10 monthly) or Fillz (which I use) because then you'll be able to list the same item on multiple venues and increase your exposure. When you enter an inventory item on AOB or Fillz they automatically list it at all of your venues (Amazon, eBay Stores, Half, Alibris, Abebooks, Biblio, etc). If the item sells on one venue then both services automatically remove it from your other venues so there is no danger of overselling an item.
Thanks so much. I will look into those. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Hi All TT'ers and lurkers,
Let me take the time to clear up some issues about listing counts & a few other issues that have been raised on the PSU thread. Listing counts: As I have and many others have said in the past don't believe any listing # about WP anywhere you see it. Take the time to do a manual count yourself from the view all stores pages. PSU does NOT account for store listings. PSU does NOT account for Ray's ghost stores and the listings that are in those stores be it core style or store listings. PSU does NOT keep a sales report or try to determine what the sales have been on any auction or marketplace site. PSU does NOT account for listings that are doubled or sometimes quadrupled. Most important is it is NOT PSU's job to do this. Whatever way PSU pulls there listing count numbers from all sites I can assure you that the sites themselves have the ability to manipulate those counts. Please remember WP and a few/many others sites are only updated once a day on the PSU listing count charts. Sales: It was stated in the PSU forum that the average weekly sales for WP is about 2,000. Sorry not a believable number considering the amount of stores that have closed in the past 30 days. Consider the remaining stores of about 400. How many of those stores can claim they have sold 1 item in the time they have been at WP. Not many and in fact the single largest store has never sold 1 item in there time at WP. That is correct out of 5800 items not 1 sale. Some will claim several sales per week on WP and that is fine for you to make those claims. However it is more like 100 sellers that are having sales on WP so lets say 10 sales per week per those 100 sellers and where is the sales at per week. Yes 1,000 and I am being very generous with those numbers. Promoting yourself through forums such as PSU: If you go to a forum to ask questions why you should join WP you would have to expect some people to tell you there reasons why to join. You would also expect not everyone has had as cheery a time with WP as some have. In fact most haven't had a good time there at all (read this TT thread you will see what I mean). Why do some people continue to cheer for WP? That is simple. The people who are cheering for WP in the PSU forums see any potential seller as a potential customer for themselves. Is there anything wrong with that? No & yes. Helping someone to make a decision to join WP could be viewed as a smart business move being that you have helped the person come to a decision they may remember that and spend some money in your store. On the other hand look at the feedback of the sellers there. The site looks as if most sellers are selling to one another and there is not many outside buyers. Note to Ray: Ray your little Q&A session didn't go to well it looks like. I am positive that you read this thread and in fact feel that you have posted here in this TT thread. No posting ID memtioned but you have taken your lurkdumb into this thread at least once. Put Karens skirt back in your drawer and address your customers and answer the questions that your former sellers have asked many times. Your current customers are thinning every day. I think you are a coward as many others do. Prove us wrong. Your failure to present yourself to current, past & potential customers will in the end shut you down. Be a man and take some responsibility for your actions. In NO WAY should a customer have to go to the extent they have to advertise for a real business. Has anyone ever seen a customer walk into any store, spend $9.95 and then promote the store for free for an endless period of time? let the truth be told u1it4less - "it's all in the name.." Some are selling Christian T-shirts. Gotta love those "ETHICS!"
There is a report button, you know. Not that it seems to do much good.
It seems that ebay pulls the wrong things alot and allows things that should be pulled to stay. |

I need some help here from my fellow TTers. A store registered May 16th (the day WP2 opened) has been dormant since August with zero listings. I know because I've been documenting this type of trend and the stores that peak in and out. Today this one 'popped' up with one item for sale. 5.99 with a 12.99 BIN. Has this store been paying 9.95 per month since it's inception? Is your understanding of the WP policy the same as mine? A store, whether it has listings visible or not, must pay monthly for it to remain open? If you all agree with my interpretation of the policy for SmartPro then this one has been paying to remain a part of this trust based community for months. Moving to the next point, can someone explain why they have been inactive but throwing their 9.95 away monthly for no viable reason? And this seller has been blessed with the founding member icon!! Confirmation that they are up-to-date in their monthly payments and regarded in good standing. Here the one I'm currently talking about. http://www.wagglepop.com/stores/kays-vintage-books I have quite a list bookmarked of stores similar to this one. I'd be happy to share it with anyone interested. Dormant established stores with zero inventory that pop up once in a while with an item or two newly listed. They seem to appear/reappear faithfully when the store count declines. :lies2n: :wtf: :yeahright2:
They have been busy , they now have 2 items listed... At the cost of ebay auctions they could of listed the books for over 4 months. listing and relisting. |

Listing counts: As I have and many others have said in the past don't believe any listing # about WP anywhere you see it. Take the time to do a manual count yourself from the view all stores pages.
Are you only doing manual counts from the view all stores pages and neglecting to count all of the listings run by sellers who don't have a Wagglepop store? Every time I see this thread I shake my head at all of the posts here that are based on totally incomplete information and totally inaccurate assumptions. It is really sad to see so much time wasted on all of this misinformation month after month after month...............
Powerseller, Hi and welcome back to TT. What you are saying is that the difference between the manual count via view all stores and the WP homepage number is made up by the sellers who don't have stores am I correct? My last manual count showed a difference of more then 15,000 listing. That was about a week ago. A few larger stores have closed since then so I am pretty sure the difference is larger now. I'll tell you what, I will do another count later today it's no problem. So we are to believe that 10% of the sellers on WP don't have a store there. PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAASSSSEEEE!!!!!! Look powerseller you are more then welcome to post or lurk here but let's try and be realistic about this. let the truth be told u1it4less - "it's all in the name.."
