WP never tried to charge me with the extra month after I requested the account to be closed due to the censorship and lack of free speech. Yes I was given the chance to pull my listings one by one and pay my account in full but I didn't owe anything on the account. If you try to close your store rather then get terminated they will try to charge an extra month. I can't speak for everyone but niether can you powerseller due to the fact you haven't been terminated or have had to close your account.
BINGO!! We Have A Winner Here!!!! It was not even suggested to me that I owed another month. I dodged that bullet. Because I ticked Ray off so badly with my public "revised" header message (uncomplimentary to his site) that closure was instantaneous. Once he read about it on here, and looked for himself, he hit buttons to sever me from his trust based community without hesitation. I wasn't given the time to ask for formal closure though I had already pulled all my listings before making my statement. Benefit of departing in the manner I did? Extra month's fee forfeited due to owner's impulsive anger to shut me down before. Allowing his indignation to rule his actions before considering the money grab. Multiple communication about civilly and quietly closing my account (with another months fee) - avoided. Gotta love human nature. Hi every body! I'm back in town. I highly recommend this strategy to anyone who chooses of leave WP. What have you got to lose? You can't stay on as a buyer so you might as well leave as a disgruntled seller. And go out with a bang!!

Has anyone else noticed the humor on the WP store main page. When you click on the store button, you see a scenic picture with the words "Take the road less traveled". With the steady decline of the WP stores, I find that an interesting choice of words (and very funny).

Quote:Fine, please go back and check your PayPal account as Alskling and I have both done. You will see that you did not have to pay anything immediately. The $9.95 cost that appeared on your seller account when you opened would not have been invoiced or payable at least until the next invoices were issued which is done on the 10th of each month. When reviewing my PayPal account, I discovered that my WP store which was opening on 7/22 did not cost me a dime until 9/10. None of this makes any sense at all. I opened my store the middle of July and payment was made on that day, although it appears to not have been debited until 8/10. How PowerSeller didn't pay until September, when we both opened stores at around the same time, is a mystery. After I closed, I was invoiced for another month, which I did not owe.
Alskling, I'm sorry, but I thought you understood that you did not and could not have made any payment to WP on the day you opened your store, July 15th. The earliest that your invoice would have been issued and payable would have been 8/10 which IS the date that you said the first payment was debited. I'm not trying to say that my experience is the same as everyone else's, just that I've seen many false statements made, and some of them can be easily cleared up by looking at sellers' WP payment history and by understanding how the billing works which is (from the WP Billing and Account Information page): "How does a Store subscription post to my seller account? Since Stores can be opened by any member on any day of the month, the posting of the subscription fee to your seller account and the day monthly that invoices are due cannot be the same day, unless by happenstance. On the day your Store opens, the first month subscription fee will post to your account immediately, and you will not be billed again until the exact same day the next month, and all following months. For example, if you open a Store on 7/20, the monthly subscription of $9.95 posts to your seller account and covers the period from 7/20 to 8/19, which is one month of service. Then on 8/20, it will post again, and on the 20th of each subsequent month. Invoices are always issued on the 10th, while Store subscriptions always post on the date they were opened, and cover one month of service. The Store subscription fee is not actually payable until seller invoices are issued on the 10th of each month for payment, and covers the monthly period as outlined above. What happens if I cancel my Store subscription? Since a Wagglepop Store is part of the SmartSell Pro Package, to close your Store you must close the entire SmartSell Pro user account. All listings will terminate. Due to the nature of the benefits of the SmartSell Pro Package (such as free listing insertions, for example), there are strictly no pro-rated refunds if a Store is closed before the end of the monthly Store subscription posting date. Therefore, if you do wish to close your Store, we recommended doing so just a day or so prior to the subscription posting date, which is the same date as the date your opened your Store and upgraded to a SmartSell Pro user account."

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I did go back and check my account. I do not wish to publically post financial information, so I will just say that I requested my store be closed and got billed immediately after. My account was debited the day after I signed up. The tenth of the following month, the tenth of the following month, the tenth of the following month and two days after I requested my store be closed. (Whew, I hope I got all of it in there.)
I did not get thrown out, I asked that my store be closed. I got thrown out after I went back and raised a fuss over the extra billing, which was never answered or paid, for that matter.
YOHB, One thing we forgot to cover for a downfall to being terminated with a few thousand listings up is that your GTC listings may remain active after your store has been closed. Here is my rundown as per sales and buys while on WP. SEPT: 1 purchase with feedback left from both me and the seller (friend from ebay) OCT: 2 sells 1 left feedback and feedback was given. The other left WP and still buys from me every month but through blujay no feedback left either way. NOV: store closed 11/21/06 1 sell 11/22/06 after store was closed. It took 3 days for the buyer to track me down to let me know they purchased something from me. Little did I know WP was offering my items forsale when I had no way to know about it with my account closed. Sale completed and the buyer said they would never purchase again from WP due to the fact she had to jump through hoops to find me and realize I wasn't there anymore. let the truth be told u1it4less - "it's all in the name.." Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Still doesn't explain why my account was debited Aug. 10 and PowerSeller's not until Sept. 10, although we both opened stores around the same time.
FYI: I WAS terminated by WP and I STILL got invoiced after my account was closed, and payment was debited just days before, so I owed nothing. This invoice was sent with a special "payment link" by Karen, since I was no longer a member. I guess she figured she'd run it up the flagpole and see if I'd salute. Fortunately, I had gotten all my listings out of there so they couldn't be used as false advertising or to beef up the listing tote board. Edit: From what I've heard from other sellers, current and past, the accounting system at WP seems really screwed up. Karen's bogus advice on opening a second PayPal account along with plastering information regarding individual and collective delinquencies on the forums are prime examples of how much "staff" knows about the precise and delicate handling of confidential financial matters. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
powerseller,
What is your take again on the homepage listing tote? If you do a manual count of non store listings it reflects a loss of over 4,000 listings due to todays store closings. Take a look at the PSU tote tomorrow and you will see this as well. The homepage tote at WP dropped about 1,300 listings today. Don't you consider this false advertising? let the truth be told u1it4less - "it's all in the name.." X-POP NATION, A real seller's network |
