Yes, it was BARBISSE. The store had over 2900 FB's on eBay, and zero on WP. Opened in August.

On 1/2/07 when the store count took a nose dive, I captured the store item counts, but things were changing pretty quickly.

Here is what I have
#1 store had - 6915 items, and today have 5117
#2 store had - 5814 as of today closed
#3 store had- 3680 as of today closed
#4 store had- 3158 as of today closed
#5 store had- 3153 as of today closed
#21 store had 1387 as of today closed
#24 store had 1335 as of today closed
another store- 772 items as of today closed
another store- 737 items as of today closed

total items- 21,834
and there are more, so what about the theory that the stores that closed had very few items.

If this seller pulled his listings and closed his account--but the listings are still viewable, shouldn't someone tell him? It could be bad for his business if people try to click and buy--but the listings are weird, dangling things.

If it's true that his listings are still showing up on the site after he's gone, could this be a software glitch? If it is--that's a HUGE glitch and a huge problem.

On 1/4/07 there were 446 stores. Today there are 374 stores. And as Chiquita pointed out, 21,834+ listings are gone. The theory that the stores that closed had very few items listed has been proven to be.....for lack of a better word....A LIE!

In less than 4 weeks, to lose that many stores and especially that many listings, but the number of listings in no way reflects the loss of items today alone (at least 9,000) members should be paying a little closer to the truth.....something just ain't quite right in Pop Land.

They are still showing up on the site. And they are still active, unlike some other listings that look like they are active until you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and see you can't bid/buy on it.

If it is a software glitch, it needs to be fixed immediately. We have been discussing the fact that when stores leave many of the listings remain active for quite some time, and since we know KaRay lurks here, I'm sure KaRay is aware of what is happening. I thought by now it would have been fixed, but either he can't fix it or chooses not to so the listing count will stay high Icon_scratch

Probably. The software WP uses does have several glitches. From a BiddersNSellers thread at PSU this weekend:

You do not have to manually delete closed listings. They delete themselves after 90 days.

We keep old listings for 90 days to give the seller chance to relist and study well thu on their old stock.

I hope you give rscript sites another try it is fixed at BnS and I believe a few others fixed theirs too.

The problem of listings remaining active when an account is deleted is probably also a glitch.

EDIT: FYI: Manadatory deleting of an account when a subscription plan (like SmartSellPro) is ended is not a feature of rscript - it is a WP exclusive.
