Thanks everybody for the warm welcome. It's much better here in the light. I started feeling like a bat being on the "dark side" of WP. My store's still there, but that is soon changing.
Til next time..... |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I Want.
We've all been there. To PS and the rest of the jump-up-and-down Poppers, if you're lurking, please pay attention. YOU ARE PART OF A GRAND DECEPTION. You are aiding and abeiting a con artist. This is not a noble cause. When we point something out to you that is in direct contradiction to common sense and black and white reality consider it a "heads up". Whatever disabilities you have, we know they don't consist of blindness and profound retardation. WHEN SELLERS CLOSE THEIR STORES AND LEAVE IN DROVES, but the listing tote board is at EXACTLY the same number and then, right on cue, Karen pops on the boards to announce how WP is "growing", do you not call this deceiving? Look beyond the Waggle dances, smiley faces, and "dynamic" histrionics. I double dare you to say NO to your daily Koolaid ration and toss out the Spam sandwich JUST ONCE as a test and watch what happens. Being part of this scam reflects poorly on you, your good judgment, and your ability to properly service your customers. I nearly lost a long, loyal customer due to Karen's horrific mismanagement. DO YOU WANT THAT TO HAPPEN TO YOU? Just because you don't see funny people in pointy hats making incantations around a cauldron, does not mean you are not part of a cult-like process. Ray is not your savior. WP is not your family. Ray can flush you down the at any time he pleases. At least eBay has stockholders to answer to. Ray answers to NO ONE. It's his sandbox and he can throw sand in your face or kick you out of the box (in his words "hit the bricks") without warning. Is it like a bad marriage, where you have so much of your life invested that you don't want to give up? THINK! When current Poppers come to this board and have to hide behind a sock puppet to speak their mind for fear of retribution by Ray and his band of merry disciples who lurk here and report back like gestapo informants, DOES THAT NOT SEND A MESSAGE OF PARANOIA? Does that sound SANE to you? When Karen comes on the WP forums and threatens to bring the law down on you if you do not behave, IS THAT SANE? When you are told that IF YOU CLOSE YOUR STORE YOU WILL LOOSE ALL YOUR HARD-EARNED FEEDBACK and USER ID FOR LIFE, does that make sense? Especially when we all know it takes all of one minute to reinstate an account (a function of the software), why would KaRay have such a policy? TO CONTROL YOU! Stop treating your business like it has no worth! Your business deserves better than empty promises and blind faith. It deserves respect. Take it to venues that have it together with features HERE and NOW. Stop with the pie-in-the-sky, pot-of gold-is-just-around-the-next-bend, and then the next, and next, wombat poo poo. Ray is deceiving you and you are deceiving yourself. The cheerleading mantra goes like this, "I don't care what Ray's done in the past or whether he's a trained monkey, or what anybody says about listing counts, or bogus feedback, "pretend stores", or lies, or censorship, WP works for me, so I'm staying." Others here say "great" and wish you the best. I say crap. WP works for nobody. IT DOESN'T WORK, PERIOD. If a Popper has success, it's due to the Popper's efforts alone. Give credit where credit is due. Ray doesn't appreciate your hard work. He appreciates your monthly store fee -- period. All you are is a deposit into his PayPal account. You're a fool if you think otherwise. If you want to stay Poppers, fine. BUT BE REAL. See Poopland for what it IS, not for what you think it could or should be, hopes to be, promises to be, pretends to be, or wants you to BELIEVE it to be. You are not part of RAY's business. You ARE Ray's business. He has a web site and boxed software, period, and he's counting on YOU to CREATE HIS BUSINESS. You are an employee who PAYS THE BOSS. THINK ABOUT IT!!!! Is that what you want for YOUR business? |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
new TT'ers!
so glad you can join us here. I use the same ID everywhere I go. Has it hurt my business? Initially, yes. But, at WP, all I had was other WP'ers buying from me. Now, I have my own customer base. If you still have your store and wish to remain anonymous, do not give any information here. If you have any specific questions that you fear would reveal your identity, you can send a PM. If we're not laughing too hard and spewing on our screens, we tend to answer quickly. Feel free to rant, rave and sometimes just get silly here. I have no issues with any seller who chooses WP as a venue. I wish anyone who has success there the best of luck. It did not work for me and many other people. I cheered just as hard as the next guy. I just made the first mistake of business 101 - I didn't do enough research first. Live and learn.
I hate stupid people!

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
OT here but I was reading PSU re:Tazbar's Advertising and thought this is worth posting
Quote:Here is the initial list for the February 2007 UK TV campaign. A further 200 adverts are still to be added to bring the total to 1100 for the month. This 3rd Tazbar TV campaign is designed to reach a broader audience across a larger number of adverts and is exploring new channels and different time slots. Following the hugely successful Xmas campaign and recent mentions of Tazbar on BBC TV we hope that this will add to the rapidly growing activity. Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:Understanding sell thru vs profit What's missing here? Let's see. 1) It takes X amount of time to list 100 items and sell 5 for a profit of $40.01 before other expenses such as FVF, PayPal, inventory costs, etc. 2) It takes 10 times X as the amount of time to list 1000 different items for a profit of $90.05 selling twice as many items, before other expenses as compared to 100 items. Conclusion: Sellers time is worth basically nothing. Why? Because when 10 out of 1000 items are sold the seller makes a little over twice the money by working 10 times as long. If the seller lists 2000 items and sells 20, he works 20 times as long for 4 times the money, as it takes to sell 5 items out of 100 listings. Quote:Conclusion How does this statement follow? IT DOESNT. The SmartSell program does not market items and does not put items in front of buyers eyes any more than running an auction or fixed price item without a store. It simply ties sellers into a subscription account and Ray yells that ancient Chinese battle cry CHA-CHING as his PayPal account smiles. Furthermore, SmartSell is of NO ADVANTAGE TO A SELLER WHATSOEVER if there are no sales. Meanwhile, Ray hops and skips in his fuzzy slippers and sings the Ca-Ching song. |

It's much cheaper to obtain 100 items to sell than 1000 items. Total revenue MAY be higher with more listed - but subtract out costs, and the net goes WAY down. Who has 1000 items that show up for free?? JoJo |
