So while there still may be some very good sellers at WP who could be considered in with some of the best. There have been a lot who would be considered the best and who worked hard while they were there who have closed their stores for one reason or another. Some of them friends of mine. I consider statements like this an insult to them.
My post was not intended to be insulting to anyone. Since it has been commented on here, I can think of 2 WP sellers who are no longer there that I would consider to be among the best that WP has had so far. Those 2 people would be Diana of Infant Toddler Clothing and Terry of Wake Me Up Before You Logo. Those 2 ladies are not currently on WP as far as I know, and they were definitely among the best. I do think that most of the very best are still there, but that is in no way a put down to anyone who is no longer there. When I'm speaking of the best sellers in my opinion, those are people who really stand out to me for one reason or another, and I don't see most of those people leaving WP. Just so everyone knows, I do not in any way consider myself to be one of the best. If anyone said directly to me, "YOU, Alison, are certainly NOT one of the best sellers to have sold on the WP site", I would fully agree with that statement and would not be the slightest bit offended. It was not intended to be a negative statement, just a personal observation. I stand by it in that I do believe that WP is better off with the seller base that it has now than when there were hundreds of stores with very few items listed (some with only one or two) who weren't even paying their store fees or weren't even completing transactions when items were purchased. I hope this provides a bit more clarity as to what I was trying to say.
Bolding mine. She meant to say, it was another opportunity to shake her pom poms. I never backed you up anywhere, Angel, but I tried my damnedest to look out for you and keep my mouth shut. You crossed the line, no matter what your intent was. What a bunch of hooey. The best sellers... leave eBay and WP completely (or never started there except to use it as advertising) and make it as their own verifiable, profitable WEBSITE, using their OWN NAME and no one elses. And just because I have my website does not mean I'm the best. By far, I am not. And I was not a best seller anywhere, never a PS, etc. But I didn't want to be until now. I've been on eBay full time (as best I could) for less than a year and I've made further strides than most people selling online ever have. So to hell with that best seller crap. Peace Angel. Edited to add: best and success are extremely subjective. It's one's own personal successes that matter not YOURS, Wagglepop's, eBay's or anyone else's misguided opinion. |
I need to clarify this statement. Because MY ultimate goal is to have a successful website that runs of its own volition, for ME, I consider this the best.. I think it really is all subjective - what's the best for you?? Not for anyone else. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
WP Homepage listing count # is?????????
For those of you who haven't seen the new WP look on the homepage there seems to be something missing. Yes the homepage listing count is gone. The number displayed was never correct anyway so that is one thing less for us to talk about right? Wrong!! Because that number isn't there anymore doesn't mean that the active listings from closed stores don't play a big role in WP anymore. The homepage listing count # was a deception but now that it is gone all that means is Ray has changed his game plan to be more deceptive. A quick look at the homepage would lead some sellers to believe that things have changed for the better. It is the total opposite of that. The homepage still screams $9.95 a month and is still geared towards attracting sellers. Quote:Register Quote:Sell Yes there is a section for shop but 2 out of 3 sections that stick out at you are geared towards sellers including the one to register. We knew that wouldn't change much though. Ray will always go after his customers first, his greed will never stop. Lets get back to that listing number on the homepage though. You might think with that gone Ray isn't falsely advertising the listing count anymore. Think again! The number was only one way he did that. All though active listings from closed stores are just that, ACTIVE!! That in itself is false advertising and it is done thousands of times. Last I looked (last week) there were over 20,000 listings that remained active from closed stores. You might say big deal at least that number is gone. Well guess what all that number represented was a bigger problem and that is the false advertising from those closed stores. Many sellers use the same user ID on many different venues. Is it right that your closed store and the listings are search able from google and froogle to name a few for months after you have left. No it isn't and in fact it is an embarrassment to those ex-wp sellers. On top of that those 20,000 active closed store listings are free advertising for Ray. Yes you can open anyone of those listings and from there you can go anywhere you want in WP taking business away from the seller who has already left WP. Don't be fooled into what Ray would like you to believe. Your listings are still not safe if you get terminated from WP. You still must end your listing manually to ensure they will be closed. The big deception hasn't ended, it's just changed!!! let the truth be told u1it4less - "it's all in the name.." X-POP NATION, A real seller's network |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I went back to this store at Pop Land to check a few things.
http://www.wagglepop.com/stores/Shoppers...on?disp=me Does anyone know what an SP Exchange is? I've never heard of or seen that before. Also, I thought you weren't allowed to have links like this store has. When you click on the 'our feedback button', it takes you to ebay, along with other buttons. Plus there are a few links to other selling venues. This store is worth watching.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Truth, it has been an extremely long day for me. Not much sleep last night, getting prepared for a major winter storm to hit, dealing with a broken wrist, etc. I've tried to figure out which 2 stores closed but I can hardly remember my own name at this point in time. Would you pm me and let me know which 2 left? Thanks
