Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Thank you Chiquita and Fine Things. Allow me to clarify myself by saying I did not say what I did in any attempt to persuade anyone onto my side or scoop's side. I was only stating what I saw. I do realize this is a case of "he said, she said", and unless you were directly involved, it is impossible to expect anyone to believe what is being said only because "I said so", lol. I only ask you to keep an open mind. Even for those who were there when this happened, some people interrpreted the happenings different than others. One fact everyone can agree on is that feelings were hurt.
I completely understand your feelings about the post that was made by Powerseller. She did not feel like what she said was wrong. You and many others (including myself) did feel like she was wrong and feelings were hurt. I think many people confuse apologies with guilt. Maybe she thinks if she apologizes for hurting your feelings, it is an admission that she did something wrong. There are times when I have hurt people's feelings yet did not feel like what I have done is wrong. Yet, it is easy to say "I am sorry I hurt your feelings". Many people lack communication skills. Many people say "This is just business. Don't get your feelings wrapped up in it". I guess I am too passionate of a person. I have never learned to do that. Fine, I remember when you were on wagglepop. We talked several times on the boards. Your posts were always well worded and eloquent. If you handle your customers as well as you handled yourself on the board, then you definately must be among the "best". I am sure there are others here that are also "among the best" or the cream of the crop, but since User ID's are different, I am unable to say I am sure who the others are. I also agree that Wagglepop will probably "slam the door" on sellers again. I have mixed feelings about that. One is sadness. I have made many friends on Wagglepop. The division among sellers lately is so sad. The community was very strong when I began on Wagglepop. Now it is very cliqueish (Is that a word?). I also feel sadness because Wagglepop could have been a great site. We should have over 1000 stores now. Due to poor management, we have 350 (around about). It is claimed that some of these are ghost stores. I can't say either way as I have to admit I havent checked into them. There was a time when I was excited to see my store going up the list from all my hard work and daily listing. Well, my store is still going up the list, but because the stores above me have dropped out. I also feel anger. I feel like so much time has been wasted. Time is as much a precious commodity as money. This time could have been better spent elsewhere. I also feel anger at once again being duped. First ebay, now wagglepop. I am happy that when I left ebay, I learned not to put all my eggs in one basket. At least this time I have back up plans. Plans that have already begun to grow. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
witheyeswideopen,
That was an exceptionally humble and honest post. I, too, am saddened. I still have many friends there as well. My wish for them is that they have found an alternative site that may work for them. Hopefully, they do not have all their eggs in one basket, as I did at the time. It is a very sad situation at WP. Ray's greed and ego kept sellers from spreading their wings and allowing the site to grow. It seems that the new store that open lately have little patience. I doubt that they will last very long. Unfortunately, and I am speaking in the most general terms, the majority of items for sale consist of sports cards, vintage advertisements, beads and charms. While nothing is wrong with that, it does not make a "marketplace". Due to the lack of diversity of products available, buyers will turn away. Ray should have taken the 900+ sellers he had, supported them with advertising, allowed business discussions but he didn't. Now it is the sellers that remain who pay for his mistakes. He is making promises of great things now, but I have already seen his promises lies never come to fruition. Alas, I think the demise is coming soon. Best of luck, poppers.

Quote:It seems that the new stores that open lately have little patience. There's absolutely no reason to have patience when other sites have similar sell through rates and are free. As a seller why should I pay WP $9.95 a month for a store when I can get a free store on the much more heavily trafficked Ecrater? Why should I pay WP an auction insertion fee and FVF when I can list on Yahoo Auctions for free?

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I have a question and I'm not being a smartazz. I honestly believe that WP will be flushed down the toilet this year. So after everyone on here celebrates, says I told you so, makes up good riddance songs, poems, commercials and all that good stuff, what will we all biotch about? This thread will get archived right?
I was thinking...(yes could be scary here)...what if there were a thread started now by people like Chiquita, sweet girl, race dream, Thentivius, and the others that know what they're doing when it comes to selling. Just hear me out. These people know where to go for web sites, web pages, everything we need to be successful sellers. This would be a thread where there was no flaming whatsoever, just a question & answer thread of "where do I find this, what would you suggest about that", kind of thing. Or is one in place that I can't find because it's not called something like...Check here for links you'll need to be a great seller. edited to add... There is a ton of info here but scattered among hundreds of pages. I was just hoping it could all be put onto one thread, and those that know what they're doing, can add to it. Not the ones that 'think" they know, or the ones who have tried something for a week or a month or 2, but the ones that actually do know. |

excellent suggestion ORUS!!! what did you think I would say? Jane you ignorant slut! [/quote] It is a good idea ORUS! There have been lots of great posts in this thread even, but they get lost in the shuffle. It would definitely be nice to have a single thread for Q&A. And yes... I am still here everyone, lol. I've just gotten really busy with some personal things and then add work on top of it, not a lot of time to do much besides catch up on reading. Thanks for the karma and I'm sending a round to y'all just in case the karma gremlins are still being boinktards. As an aside to Sweet - I hope you won't stop posting! Your posts have made me question, think, and hysterically laugh. You're always kind and thoughtful, and you bring some much needed light-heartedness and sunshine to this group. Not that others don't, but I'm sure you all know exactly what I mean - the TT WP thread wouldn't be the same without Sweet! You have so much worthwhile to share, please reconsider?
